Wow that sounded like a boring case, Quill will likely get the goggles and go on this one, pluse if things work with Luce, lockwood will not want take any chances of me dying.
Lockwood walks into the kitchen and check the thinking cloth for any interesting notes George has scribbled while doing research. Then there is a knock on the door and he immediately knew it was Lucy.
"I got it!" He hears Holly yell from the living room, she was fixing the sofa, the client had a kid that was still shook up and threw a tantrum, that did scare a him little about Lucy little one, but it should be fine. Right? Let's hope so. Then he heard the voice he had not heard in six years, the voice he love hearing. Lucy! Lockwood tried to contain his excitement as he walk to the front door, but as soon as he see her, he could not stop myself from gathering her into a hug.
"Hey Luce," he says quietly, "Welcome back."
"Hey Lockwood," She replies hugging back.
"Woah you weally tall!" A little kid says, must be Jacob. Lockwood lets go of Lucy, and kneels down to his height.
"Hey buddy, you must be Jacob."
"How did you know my name?" He asks starting to hide behind Lucy.
"Don't worry your mom told me you're name." As Lockwood says this he starts to come back out of hiding from behind his mom, as he does so Anthony realizes how adorable he is, he looks a lot like his mom. Wow that came out creepy. Lockwood stands back up and look to Luce, "Let's go to the living room to talk ."
"Come on Jake," She says while picking him up and proping him on her hip, "let's go sit down." she says then kiss his cheek. All he did was smile and cuddle into the crook of his mom's neck. Anthony is now really hoping that this kid likes him because he already loves him.
"Soooo... how has buisness been?" She asks awkwardly.
"It's been good, there are a few cases that seem interesting, not like I get go in them but, it's still my name on the company so it's at least more publicity."
"I see you're still all about publicity I honestly figured by now you would have made more of a name for yourself." She said with a soft smile, Lockwood honestly thought this would be less awkward, but in retrospect it makes sence that they do not know what to talk about.
"Yes, well you know me." He flashes her a flirty smile. "And we have had a few large cases recently, I'm a little suprized you haven't heard about them in the papers." She looked slightly unnerved about when he brought up the paper. She sighed and gave me a sad look.
"Yet another reason I left that little-" she cuts her self off, probably remembering the little boy snuggled into her side. She just rubbed his head and sighed. "The only reason I stayed as long as I did is beacuse I wanted Jake to have a some what normal childhood, which is clearly never going to happen now."
"Wow, what all did he do to you?"
"I'd rather not say with Jake in here, if that tells you anything."
"I'm so sorry Luce, so why do you not think Jake can have a normal childhood?" Lockwood says trying to change the subject noticing that then first question brought tears to her eyes, but my second did do much better.
"Well at this point he is going grow up without a dad." This just made her more upset. Lockwood knew from when they were dating that she really hated the idea of turning into her mother, and for this to happen would seem like a large to in the direction of doing exactly that. Being a single parent was probably really hard, and stressful. He move across and sit next to trying to comfort her when she looks at the time and realizes the time and sighed.
"I would love to stay and talk longer, but I really need to go get a few boxes before I find them in the trash."
"Well I could give you a ride over if you need it," He figured she was either going to walk or get a cab and the idea of her loading her stuff into a cab or carrying it across town just didn't sit with him.
"You have a car, and can drive? Wow pretty boy decided to be normal and sure, that would be great thanks." She went to get up and immediately stoped when she noticed Jake fell asleep before she tried to wake him up or carry him, they just asked Holly if she could keep an eye on him while they were out and Luce could collet her child when we got back.
On our way out the door George got home after doing some research."What!?!? I just got here and you're already leaving?!?!"
"Relax, Lockwood is just giving me a ride over to my ex's, I'll be back in a little bit, kinda have to my kid's asleep on the couch."
"Wait, ex's house, you have a kid?"
"Yeah, I'll explain when we get back."
"Geroge, I told you this last night,"
"You did, I honestly can't recall that."
