A week had passed since Hayley had met Jim and seeing as she hadn't heard anything from him or Candy she figured he wasn't interested. The money he had given her would push her a few more days and until then she didn't want to think about her side job. It was sheer luck that the first guy she had been introduced to didn't want more. Otherwise she didn't know what would have happened to her. It wasn't easy becoming someone else. She always thought she understood why those girls on the streets did what they did but she was wrong. She truly didn't know a thing and for that reason alone she made a decision not to judge anyone. Desperation could make you do the unthinkable.

Vince didn't know a thing and she was planning on keeping it that way. They were friends and he loved Alexis but Hayley didn't want to make him feel obligated. She knew that if he so much as got wind on what was going on then he would do anything. Even if it meant selling all his belongings. He was a good man who had done such much for her and she felt that by telling him anything or asking him for help would make him feel obligated to help her. And Hayley knew she had taken enough from him, more than enough actually. Thankfully he had a new case that was taking up most of his time so he didn't catch up on how weird she sounded on the phone.

Lorenzo yelled for her cutting short the thoughts going through her mind. She was exhausted but she needed whatever money she could get. Everyone at the restaurant had pitched in even as far as picking her shifts for her but that didn't mean she couldn't show up for work. She at least needed the distraction her job provided. Being on a Friday evening the place was packed and everyone was rushing around trying to keep up with the orders.

"Hey Hayley." A voice said next to her when she reached the bar.

"Hi Candy. How are you?" She said, surprised as to why the young woman was there. She was blonde and had legs that went on forever. Paired with heels she was taller and forced anyone as short as Hayley to look up at her.

"I'm. fine. So tomorrow there is this event that is high class and Jim wants you to go. Don't worry about anything though, he will take care of everything." Candy said preparing to go back the way she came.

"Wait what?" Hayley asked grabbing her wrist to prevent her from leaving after dropping that bomb.

"8.pm a car will be there to pick you up. Have fun sweetie." She said then seeing her panicked face tried to reassure her. "Honestly don't worry. I've known Jim for a while now and he's a really nice person. He seemed to like you so he will take care of you. I promise. Now I have to go."

Hayley was shocked. She didn't know she was supposed to accompany anyone to any event. And from how Candy put it, it would be full of the kind of crowd she had tried to avoid for past seven years. What kind of event was it and what was the dress code? She realized she should have detained Candy and grilled her but the woman was long gone. Boy did life know how to put you in situations you were running from. How was she supposed to do anything if she didn't even have Jim's contact? Thinking about it was starting to piss her off and if she didn't get busy, then lord knows what she would do.

It was the next morning when the consistent knocking on her door woke Hayley up. Turning she looked at the clock on her nightstand and it read 12:30pm. The five hours of sleep weren't enough and she needed more. After work yesterday she had gone to the hospital and stayed with Alexis until she kicked her out telling her if she didn't go home she (Alexis) would get the nurse to call security and kick her out. She had the weekends off and since her daughter was looking better, she decided to catch up on sleep, completely forgetting about the event she was supposed to go to.
