"Are you finally going to tell me what's going on?" JR asked after calling the chief of police. They had been told to wait for twenty four hours before reporting Alexis's disappearance but with a few favors Fisher owed them,  he  put police officers on the case. They were all worried sick about Alexis and being in the dark was driving JR insane. Not being able to do anything was frustrating, so he was going to get the truth from his father about what went down earlier.

"Not now JR" Jim said angering JR more. If not now then when?

"Don't you dare tell me that. My fiancé was pointing a gun at you dad so don't tell me not now. Start explaining yourself before I really lose it"

Sighing Jim looked at him. There was no getting out of that one and maybe it was for the best. It was about time everyone knew who Hayley and Alexis were "Hayley was Jeffrey's wife"

"Jeffrey? I don't know any- Jeffrey your son?" he sputtered

"Yes."

JR sat down. He had not seen that coming. How had he not known Hayley was Jeffery's wife? "How..... Where did you find her?"

"Candy introduced her to me"

"Candy? Your crazy escort?"

"She's not crazy. And yes. Alexis had gotten sick and Hayley was looking for a way to pay her bills because her job didn't pay her enough. It was her first time at being an escort and she was so nervous that she changed her mind seconds after we met. I knew she wasn't like the rest of the girls there and I was curious as to why she was there. After some time she finally opened up telling me her relative was sick and she needed the money. I could see she didn't belong there so I decided to help her. I also had Carrick investigate her just to be sure she wasn't lying. When he gave me her file I almost didn't believe it. It was her. I'd thought that leaving her alone to start a new life was the best solution but then there she was. What were the chances she would just happen to know Candy who introduced her to me?"

"That's why you insisted on bringing her here?"

"Yes. I saw it was fate giving me a second chance to correct my mistakes. Helping her meant making up to her for what Jeffrey did to her. I hated that she had to resort to being an escort to pay for Alexis's bills. So I moved her in and decided to announce your engagement. I knew that if you didn't want her then it would still be okay because I'd have a reason to have both her and Alexis close. I really didn't think you would fall in love with her. I just thought you'd pretend to date her and when you were done then we'd get her a house and set her up somewhere nice where I'd get to see Alexis."

"That's all great dad. But when were you planning on telling her that you were Jeffery's father?"

"I don't know. When the time was right. Maybe on my deathbed? Look I really didn't count on you guys to fall in love with each other. And while I welcomed it, I also knew I'd have to tell you sooner. I just wanted to wait until the wedding was over. That way she would only be mad at me and not you since you knew nothing. I only wanted you to be happy son"

JR sat there processing everything. He knew about Jeffrey because they'd met once. From that meeting alone he'd figured out that man was a ticking time bomb. Jeffrey was angry, the anger stemming from the fact that Jim acknowledged him as his son despite being adopted while the world didn't know he existed even though he was the real son. The one time they'd met, Jeffrey had told him to watch his back since he was coming for him. He'd never seen him again until his funeral. Jim had filled him on what had happened between him and his wife but never in a million years had he thought Hayley was that woman. Everything made sense then. The scars, the trust issues, her attachment to Vincent. He was lost. He didn't know how to feel. He didn't know how she felt.
