Two days. Two whole days. That's how long it took for JR to find out where Vince was hiding her. The police had informed them that Hayley and Alexis were fine but they wouldn't reveal where they were. Vince had sworn them to silence. If he had been a detective alone, it would have been easy to throw the wealth of the Rutherfords in the department's face. But he was also a Lachlan who countered whatever move he made. So JR resorted to blackmailing Willa, Vince's sister so she would tell him where her brother was. It was his last resort, Nick having abandoned him and sided with his part of the family claiming he was only trying to help. Which was bullshit because if there was ever a time he needed a best friend, it was then.

JR felt betrayed and pissed. Pissed at his father for keeping important secrets that could break his relationship with the love of his life. Pissed at Vincent for hiding Hayley and Alexis. Pissed at himself for not finding them first. Pissed at Nick for siding with Vincent. God the list was long and it kept growing and growing by the minute. Currently he was breaking all the traffic rules in order to get to the hospital before Vince found out he knew. Parking his car, he headed straight to the lifts pressing the third floor. Willa had told him Hayley's room number after calling him all sorts of names she could come up with. The elevator opened and JR knew which room Hayley was just from the cops standing outside. He scoffed. It was so like Vince to waste taxpayers money by posting cops outside Hayley's room just to keep him away.

"Sorry no visitors allowed" one of the cops said blocking his way.

"That's my fiancé in there so get out of my way"

"I'm sorry sir"

JR was loosing his patience. "Listen man I really don't want to cause a scene here so please move away from the door and let me through" they eyed each other then formed a barrier completely blocking him out. JR cursed placing his hands on his waist. He contemplated on what he was about to do but he was desperate. If they wanted to put him in jail, they could. Just after he'd seen Hayley and Alexis. Raising his gaze to them, he gave them one last chance to move and when the stood their ground, he threw the first punch. It caught one on the chin sending him sideways but the other one was too quick. The blow landed square on JR's jaw making him wince. Dammit these weren't rookies. Just his bad luck. He was ready to go again when Vincent's voice stopped him short.

"What the fuck are you doing here?"

JR saw red lunging at him. "You bastard. How dare you hide her from me?" he got in one blow before the two cops he had been fighting held him back. By then they had already attracted attention from other people who were watching the drama unfold.

"She doesn't want to see you so leave her alone" Vince spat out wiping blood from his lip.

"Then let her tell me that to my face. You have no right to keep me from seeing her" JR yelled struggling to get free and beat the shit out of Vince.

Before Vince had a chance to reply a doctor approached them raising his hands. "Gentlemen I suggest you take this outside or I'm going to be forced to call security" they both stared at each other none of them willing to back down.

"JR?" a small voice said from behind the cops restraining him.

"Alexis" he said then turning to the police men he snarled "let me go". They both dropped his hands as if they'd been burnt. Dropping to his knees, he hugged her while the crowd that had gathered dispersed leaving only Vince and his minions. "How are you"
