The demon had been frozen and shattered but it hadn't worked.
" Their still here, you said it would work! It didn't work! You promised!" Cordelia screamed at Angel, pointing to her still swollen stomach.
" I know. It worked for the others. Why didn't it work for you?" Angel replied in questioning.
" I don't know. But I just want them gone."
Cordelia screamed again as she doubled over.
" Cordelia?! What's wrong?" Wesley asked.
" Well, If you hadn't noticed. I'm in labour. Ugh!"
" We need to get you to the hospital" Angel stated.
" No." Cordelia replied sarcastically looking up them.
" Not to burst the bubble, but she's still having demon spawn."
" And what do you expect us to do leave her to have them here. Just help me."
" Right, Yes."
" Ahhhhh." She screamed. " I don't want to give birth to evil demon spawn."
" Let's just hope they don't kill anyone when their born." Wesley said nervously.
" Just drive." Angel demanded.

When they got to hospital after a loud drive and some verbal and physical abuse, Cordelia was almost about to the deliver.
" Ahhhh. God. I'm never doing this again!"
" That's it you're doing great almost there." Angel tried to in courage her.
" Angel, if you weren't dead. I'd kill you. Ahhhhh. Fu.."
" Ah. Miss Chase right this way." The doctor said calmly, leading Angel who at this point was carrying Cordelia to a delivery room.
Angel placed Cordelia on the bed as the doctor spoke.
" How far between contractions?"
" Um. Four maybe three minutes." Wesley reported, pacing.
" Well. Let's get these babies into the world shall we. Strip out of those and we can birth theses little joys. I have to say it's a joy to be
Delivering such a unfounded amount of infants on one sitting. " The doctor said leaving to get some nurses.
" What do we do if their are evil serpent killer things?" Wesley asked in whisper.
" Then we deal but our main priority is Cordy."
Angel said getting closer to Cordelia. " How you doing?"
" How am I doing. I'm.. ahhhh. F...." she screamed as another contraction hit... hard.
" Angel!" She said breathless. " Their coming! Now!"
" Like now! Now! Wes! Get the doctor!" Angel shouted as he help Cordy back onto the bed.
"You won't leave me right?!" She asked desperately. She looked like a terrified child.
" Never." He replied as she gripped his hand forcefully as contraction hit. He felt the bones in right hand break under her grip. He fought the urge to pull away and smiled at her pale, sweat soaked face. She looked beautiful. She always looked beautiful.
" Okay. It sounds like your ready to become a mummy. lets get this show on the road shall we."
" Yeah. Let's get this over! Ahh!" She screamed.
The doctor spoke throughout the birth.
" Do any names picked out?"
" No. Not any we've settled on." Angel replied covering Cordelia's colourful out bursts of rage about demons and how it could be suggested that this was entirely Angel's fault.
" All woman are like this at this stage. She'll apologise later." A nurse commented and patted Angel in comfort.
" Okay. I can see the first head. One more push and your first baby will be here. Come on Cordelia."
" I can't." She cried.
" Yes you can. You're the strongest woman I know." Angel whispered in her ear. Like he had throughout the whole ordeal but this seemed to motivate her the most.
She gripped the blue bed sheets and Angel's hand and pushed as hard as she could.
Wesley made the mistake of being bottom end.
Angel watched his face contort then drain to a pale cream and his body just went limp falling to the tiled hospital floor.
" You have a healthy baby boy! Congratulations Miss Chase!" The Doctor held up a squealing HUMAN baby boy, who was covered in blood and other things.
Angel just concentrated on Cordelia.
The baby had a head of dark hair and tanned skin but no tail, claws not a demonic trait on him.
" He's healthy and normal!" Cordelia cried in joy.
She smiled lazily at Angel. " They're going to be okay."
" They sure are."
" Ahhhhh. Mother..of..." She screamed as the next baby came.
Baby number 2 was a girl.
3 and 4 were boys.
5 and 6 were girls.
The last baby was more difficult as Cordelia was so tired. Her body had began to shake under Angel's hand. She was under tremendous stress and it was starting to take effect.
" Angel. I...I can't. I'm so tired." She slurred at him.
" Just one more. The last baby. Come on. Then you can sleep as long as you want."
" I'm so tired."
" Cordy. You have to. Then we can get go home.
Okay. I'm here. Just one more." Angel pleaded with her.
" Okay. But you owe me, mister." Cordelia said sleepily.
" Anything you want." He whispered to her. And saw her small smile.
He looked at the nurse beside him, questioning what she was doing with his eyebrow.
" Something to take the edge off afterwards."
" Almost there. Just one more and you can sleep all night." The doctor said happily.
Cordelia gave it her all and the last child was born.
But unlike the others she didn't hear an ear piercing cry. She heard nothing. And her heart sunk and panic set in.
" What's wrong?! I don't hear crying. Why don't I hear crying. Angel?!"
" Nurse! Resuscitation unit now!"
The doctor screamed as the nurses rubbed the baby to try and get her to breath.
" Come on! Come on" Angel mumbled under his breath, rubbing Cordelia's hand.
A silent pray for the smallest and youngest of Cordelia's clan.
They began CPR and did that for 10 minutes and nothing.
Cordelia cried into Angel's chest.
" My baby! No. Not my baby!"
He held her as he felt hot tears pool slowly down his craved cheeks.
There was silence.
" Call it." The doctor said devastated.
" No." She looked at Angel with eyes of pain he'd never seen in her before. All she could say was No. And he couldn't speak. He just held her.
As the doctor turned to give his condolences. The monitor beeped and it beeped loud and alive.
" Impossible." He checked the baby over, the heartbeat, the monitors, felt her skin. She was warm. Warm and alive and couldn't wait to tell everyone with the loudest cry she could muster.
" Miss Chase you have a healthy baby girl. Remarkable."
" That's what'd say." A familiar Irish man said standing over the incubator holding the small fist of Cordelia's youngest. No one could see him but he was there through it all. He'd always be there.
" Can... can I see her?" She said wiping the tears. She was exhausted but she didn't care.
They rolled her to Cordelia.
" She's beautiful. They all are." She said definitely.
" Yes. They are." Angel replied.
" Wes you okay?" Cordelia asked laughing.
Wesley sat against the wall as a nurse held a cloth to his head to stop the bleeding.
He'd cut his head pretty bad on the way down.
" He'll be fine. 10 stitches at least." The nurse replied.
" Good. Serves him right for being down their."
" It was educational research." Wesley replied as the nurse lead him to another room for stitches.
Cordelia just lay in bed staring at her babies.
Her babies. Hours ago she wanted them gone and now she never wanted them to leave.
After a while the doctor came back with a few nurses.
" Okay. Miss Chase. It's time for the babies to go the ICU. There in great hands and you need your rest. You may see them in the morning. If your feel up to it."
Unwilling Cordelia finally let them take the babies.
" Crazy, huh?" She asked with a hoarse voice.
" Yeah." Angel said sitting in a chair a kind nurse brought in for him.
" 4 days ago I was a party girl and now I'm a Mother. A mother! To 7 babies." Cordelia laid back in astonishment.
" Cordy you're gonna be great and your not alone. You've got me and Wesley."
" A 20-year-old, a vampire and an English ' Demon hunter' raising 7 babies who turned out not to be evil killing serpent spawn." Cordelia laughed.
Angel laughed with her.
" This is gonna be one strange family." Angel thought to himself.
Family.
That's exactly what they were.
And will Always be.
