Doctor's orders kept Cordelia and her clan captive in the hospital for 3 weeks and, it was starting to drive Cordelia crazy, if she didn't get out soon she was gonna do something drastic.
When the Boys came to visit that night she grabbed Wesley by the collar " I can't stand it here! Get me out!"
" Well. Yes. Um. Calm down. The doctor said you may leave tonight." Wesley stuttered as he pride her hands off his collar.
" Oh. Good. That's really good. Hi Lorne." She replied straightening his collar.
" Hi, Sweetness." He waved.
" Cordy. Slow down. Take your time. Your still healing. " Angel said holding her already packed bags.
" What about the babies? Babies need things, baby things like bottles and blankets and stuff!" She asked frantically.
" Relax. While you were resting we got everything sorted. They have a safe nursery at the hotel." Wesley said proudly. She gave Angel a look. He gave her a look that said ' be nice.'
" But don't worry, we only got the basics so you can go shopping for the cute stuff later on." Lorne said.
She looked at her best friends. " You guys!" She hugged them tightly as she teared up.
" What would I do without you?" She said happily.
" So how are we going to do this? Two each then one to the rest of us?" Wesley asked.
" Do we have car seats? Do we even have a car to fit them in?! Oh my god! I didn't even think about any of this. I can't take care 7 babies!" Cordelia screamed in panic.
" Cordy, calm down. We'll sort everything. We rented a car. Well, a mini bus. The car seats are fitting. The babies are dressed and settled. We just have to get them to the car and to the nursery." Angel said starting out planned then realising that this was going take a lot more in the long run. They needed help.
" I'll call Gunn and see if he can help." Angel announced, leaving Cordelia and Wesley alone while Lorne went to get coffee.
" So how are you feeling?"
" I'm good." She replied slightly awkwardly.
" The babies?"
" Good. All healthy and ready to come home."
" Good."
" Gunn will be here in 20 minutes so we can get the babies packed." Angel said walking back into the room.
" This place has terrible coffee!" Lorne announced. He threw it away and followed the group.
They took the elevator to the ICU.
As they entered the room, incubators and cribs lined the walls in ordered rows of lilacs, pinks, blue and yellows and costume baby grows.
Parents goggled from the window or held their tiny children close to their hearts hoping the will eventually be able to take them home.
" Hi, were looking for the Chase Children?" Wesley asked the closest nurse to them.
" Yes. The chase's are right over here. In the Corner." A nurse in purple scrubs pointed to a small corner sections of the room where seven cribs lined the room.
" Hey Guys. So baby duty it is." He said walking up the them. " Wow. You had a lot of babies." He said astonished.
" Would you like to introduce us?" Angel asked.
" The boys with dark hair are Liam and Alexander. Liam's the bright blue and Alex the green. The ginger girl in pink is Judie.
Billy in red, Kara and Poppy are the blondes in pastel blue and yellow. And the littlest with dark hair is Eliza in lilac." Cordelia said proudly.
" Lorne you get Judie and Kara. Angel get Eliza and Billy. Wesley you get Alexander. Gunn get Liam. I'll carry Poppy." Cordelia commanded.
They carried each baby, happily chatting along through the wards, passed reception and to the Car. Well. Mini bus.
Getting the babies to the car was easy now strapping the children in was a lot harder.
" How does this thing work! I've been alive for over 200 years why can't I clip this thing!" Angel screamed, as other patients, parents and by passers laugh or raised an eyebrow questionably.
" Angel! Baby! Sleeping! Like it to stay that way!" Cordelia hissed.
" Move over man. I'll do it!" Gunn said clipping the baby in with ease. Angel stared at the man, he was in awe with him but also frustrated he couldn't do it alone.
Cordelia stay beside the babies in the back.
Four in the boot seats, three in the middle and Cordelia next to them.
Lorne, Angel, Gunn and Wesley sat up front.
The drive was silent apart the occasional stirring form some the babies and Cordelia constant questioning of what the nursery looked like.
" But what colour? Shade? Tone? What feel does it have?"
" You'll see when we get there." Angel replied.
As they reached the hotel. The babies erupted into chorus of frantic cries. Cordelia and the other tried shushing them but they wouldn't stop.
They each unbuckled and grabbed their assigned children, walking quickly to avoid the passing people noticing them too much.
As they entered the air felt off and something felt amidst.
" Angel?" Cordelia whispered.
" Yeah."
" Somethings wrong." She said her eyes full of panic.
Of could he would have given her his hand but it was preoccupied by two of her children's car seats.
He laid them into the lobby and made them put the children in the middle, surveying the area. He found nothing out of place yet he had a feeling something was different.
And it was beginning to drag the primal beats from within.
" Whoever you are, show your self !" He demanded.
The air screamed silently at him.
" Show your self mister. He's not kidding and I'm still hormonal. So watch it!" Cordelia commented.
They all took their fighting stances, protective over the children.
" Woah. Princess. Calm down. It's just me."  Doyle revealed himself and stood in front of the group.
Cordelia gasped. Her hand was shaking and her heart was breaking.
Doyle
" But you're...." she breathed.
" Dead. The power that be have 'uder ideas about that."  He replied with his Irish accent full and friendly.
Cordelia went to up to him. Angel stopped her and held her behind him.
" I'll sing if you really want me to." Doyle said watching Angel get protective.
He nodded. " It's wonderful to meet you Lorne. Seen so much."
Doyle sang twinkle, twinkle little star and the room quietened. The babies had stopped crying.
" He's telling the truth and he's got some news. Woah. Just Woah." Lorne replied.
" Shocked me too. The powers that be want the babies to be champions like Angel. And their not all human. " Doyle said to him.
" The bastards!" Cordelia whispered. " My children, no my babies. Newborns are fuckinh champions. No!"
" Princess. They won't be called until the apocalypse. So they will have a mortal life until then. But in order for me to be here. They had me their father. And trainer for the apocalypse." He rushes the end, rubbing his neck. Preparing himself for a whack.
" Well. This is heavy." Gunn fell into the Coach.
" My my. This is something." Wesley said sitting beside him.
Angel stood in shock between his first friend and employees.
Instead of letting them argue he pulled them both into a hug.
He held them tight. They looked at each other then allowed it to happen.
After a while they began to need air and tried to pull away.
" Angel! Air! Need!" Doyle exclaimed.
" Release! Angel." Cordelia asked and whacked
" Sorry."  He was staying about the hug but about how Doyle died.
" Mate. It's fine. I'm back." He said patting him.
" Shall we get this babies to be then?" Lorne asked still standing.
They all picked one or two babies, carrying them up the stairs and into the door directly opposite Cordelia's room.
As they revealed the room, Cordelia teared up.
The walls were blue and yellow with detailed clouds painted on them. 7 seven white cribs lined the walls each with a name carved into his wood. There were shelves and cupboards full of all things baby. It was perfect.
" You guys!" She whipped her eyes.
As they lay each baby down in their respective cribs they all kissed them and say their love for them.
They were finally a whole family again but how long does family last?
