Our night out actually ended up being quite calm. When we arrived, Brent knew the guy working the door, so we got in almost immediately. Inside the club, there was barely any room to walk, but we made it to the bar by shimmying and pushing our way through the crowd. The club was pretty big. It had a high ceiling with a dance floor that was about two-thirds of the size of a football field. The DJ booth was on the back wall next to two mounted smoke machines. Strobe lights were stationed along the tops of the walls and there was a VIP section in the middle of the left wing of the club. The bar stretched across half of the right wall and there were couches lining the rest of the walls.

Brent was able to buy us drinks since he was technically turning 21 this year and the bartender didn't really do the math to determine his age. Brent had gotten his new license a while ago since his birthday was in two weeks. He had also been our alcohol boy since he got it. About an hour into the night, a tall, light skinned girl walked over to our group. She ignored us and went straight to Brent whose face lit up like a Christmas tree as soon as he saw her. They immediately locked lips. The rest of our group gave each other confused looks since we had never seen this girl before. I was about to lean over to ask Lee if he knew what was going on when Brent released her and turned to us with a Kool-aid smile plastered on his face.

"Guys, this is Kaylen. We've been sorta seeing each other for a couple of weeks." Brent smiled.

We all greeted her, shaking her hand and giving her friendly smiles. She didn't seem to like me, though, as she gave me the weakest handshake I'd ever gotten in my life. She was a bit nicer to the guys, opting to hug them all. When she hugged Jahmil, I watched closely to make sure that she was only going for a hug and nothing more. He wasn't my man, but if I needed to step in to stake my claim, I would. Thankfully, she stepped away fairly quickly.

As she interacted with my friends, I took time to actually look at her. Kaylen was slightly taller than me, and way slimmer. She looked like she was athletic, her dress hugging her curves and showing off her toned legs. Her skin was only slightly darker than Lee's. Her eyes were a light brown that complimented her hair. The dark blonde curls flowed a little past her chin and were littered with honey blonde highlights. I was instantly jealous, since I had always wanted looser curls.

Kaylen turned to say something to me when a very familiar Drake song came on. My ears perked up, my body humming with energy. I grabbed the person closest to me and dragged them to the dance floor. The rhythm seemed to just flow through my body as I moved my waist to the carribean beat. I glanced back and saw that I had grabbed Lee. He had a focused look on his face. I giggled and turned, pressing my body into his and leaning up to speak in his ear. I was pleased when he leaned down so I didn't have to scream.

"Just follow my lead, okay?" I prompted. He nodded, unsurely. Lee had never actually danced with me before. This kind of music wasn't his thing and he tended to watch from afar whenever we went to the clubs. I gave him a reassuring smile before taking his hands and placing them on my waist. I started to slowly whine to the beat again. It didn't take long for Lee to catch on and start moving his body in a similar way. We stayed like that for a couple of songs, me leading and him following. A text coming through to my phone made me stop dancing.

Mr. Thompson: I apologize for texting so late, but I've come down with a stomach bug. Do you think you can handle the recording session tomorrow? It's at 11 with GoodTymes.

It was still a bit early, but I knew in order for me to be at the studio for 11, I would have to head home soon. It was a little after 12 in the morning and the club would be open until 2. The guys hadn't had a nice night out in a while so I didn't want to make them leave if they weren't ready. Working a recording session was something that I knew Mr. T didn't trust many people to do alone.
