"Kera you scare me" I said holding my hands over my chest.
"Am sorry Miss Martinez, I didn't mean to" she apologize
She look on me and Josh confuse, I know what she's thinking and I know her well not to say anything to Carlos.
"I'll see you tomorrow Miss Martinez" she said shly smiling.
She walk off and I turn to Josh who still looking shock, " Hey I'll see you tomorrow I need to get some rest" I said
"Ok Good night babe" he said
He walk off and I walk up to the door, I push it open and walk in the kitchen. I drink two shot of Martini and tiredly walk up the stairs to check on Cassie. I push her door open and flick the light on.
"What the hell are you doing in my daughter room?" I whisper
"You think you could play me and get away with it Latoya, you.....", he trail but I cut him off.
" keep your voice down, we can talk outside " I mumble
Angelo stare on Cassie sleeping then walk through the door with an evil smirk, I quietly close the door and follow behind him downstairs. I push him when he reach the two last step causing him to almost fall.
"What the hell were you thinking showing up at my house in my daughter room?" I said angrily throwing pushes in his chest.
"You fake Carlos signature on those documents, I actually trust you" he said holding my hands
"I didn't trust you OK am sorry I don't know who to believe" I said pulling from his hands. "If you help me get Carlos lock up then I'll hand you back your club along with the two oil companies" I said
He stare on me for a while, Angelo knows alot about Carlos and this illegal business so if he help me find out about I can get him what he want.
"So you finally decide to get rid of that bastard, why not just kill him?" He said coldly
"Angelo no I don't want him dead, he's my husband and Cassie's father. I just want him to pay for what he has done" I said
"Ok fine I'll meet with you tomorrow and we'll talk" he said
He walk through the back door and I close it behind, I sit in the sofa and cover my face crying.
"Mom who was that?" Cassie voice said
"Just a friend pumpkin" I said wiping the tears.
I force a smile and hug her tight in my arms, we both walk to her room and I take a mini suitcase from her closet. I start packing some of her things in it along with her passport and some cash.
" Mom are we going on a trip? " Cassie squeal
"No pumpkin you are, see this is your passport and some cash if anything happens between mom and dad when he comes tomorrow please take this bag and run" I said hugging her "this is your phone and this his aunty Kelsey number so if anything you call her she will come get you OK" I continue.
" Mom what's going on? Is dad gonna hurt you again? " she said
I froze while closing the bag and stare at her " Mom I know dad been hurting you, I hear you crying alot of time and dad shouting at you " she continue
"Cassie am so sorry you have to see your mom and dad fighting all the time, it will be over soon I promise" I said " get some rest now baby " I said pulling her in my lap.
I rock her gentle until she fall asleep, I place her on the bed and cover her. I kiss her forehead and close the door out. I walk into my room and start to cry, I pull out my phone and dial Kelsey.
"Latoya how are you?" She answer happily
"Am OK I need a favor from you please" I said with my voice breaking
"Latoya what's is it? Did Carlos hurt you again?" She said worried.
"No I need you to keep Cassie for some time, how soon can you get here?" I said poorly
Kelsey is gonna come get Cassie tomorrow In the evening, I need to have Carlos alone with all this so I need to get Cassie out of the way. It's been along day and I'm tired and exhausted, I strip off all my clothes and dip myself in the warm water. I relax myself a bit but my head keep reminding me of the day I had meeting my father and what he told me about Carlos. I just want to this pain to go away. I dry myself properly after getting out of the shower and get in something comfortable before going to bed.
