Eighteen months after.....
I wipe tears from Kelsey's eyes from ruin her make up. Today is her big day and am so happy for her.
"Kelsey stop crying, your messing up your make up" I said fixing her make up.
"I can't believe am getting married Latoya, I'm so overwhelm" she said
"I know that's the feeling you get when your marrying the person you love" I said with tears In my eyes.
There's not a day goes by that I haven't think about Carlos and what happen that morning. As soon as I got released from the hospital I booked a ticket to Australia and Cassie and I been living here for eighteen months. I haven't hear from Josh since that day because I left without telling him. I still think about him every day and wish I could see him again, I left the store to Jade and Tay. We talk almost everyday and I miss them so much, Carlos left everything in Cassie's name but she can't mange it all until she's old enough.
"Latoya! Latoya! I've been Calling you like forever" Kelsey said breaking me from my trance.
"Am sorry lets go" I said with a smile.
"Are you thinking about Josh again?" She mock
" Maybe, I miss him so much and I feel bad how I just left him in the hospital like that, I just...... I sigh
"Hey look at me, when two person are meant to be nothing can stop it, you will meet him again OK" she said cheerfully.
I smile and nodd we walk out together meeting up with the other bridesmaids. I watch my little angel sprinkle flowers down the aisle. It was time for the bridesmaids to march down the aisle, we hold our partners hands and March one by one down the aisle and take our position.
A few seconds after I saw my dad in the wheel chair with Kelsey down the aisle. Person cheering as she walks down, he groom look on her lustfully as she stand beside him and the preacher begins the ceremony. They both exchange their vows and kiss, we follow behind them as they walk out of the church.
"It's time to throw the bouquet" one if the bridesmaids said excitingly.
Everyone position as Kelsey throw up the bouquet, the lady's grab at it and some fall down. I laugh at how hungry the were to catch the bouquet but luckily me it fall right in my hands.
The reception....
Kelsey change into her second grown for the evening, she and max exchange their slice of cake and drink there wine. It was time for father and daughter dance and she and dad take the dance floor. Shortly after her husband steal her away and they dance to their love song. I sip on my wine as watch everyone enjoying themselves except me, I feel like something is missing from my life but I can't find it.
"Are you OK Latoya?" my dad voice said breaking me from my thoughts.
"Hey dad, am doing just fine" I said with a smile.
"Latoya your my daughter and I know you very well your not OK, you need to let go off Carlos and move on with your life, you deserve to be with someone who makes you happy, Carlos never make you happy" he said squeezing my hands gentle.
"I'm over him dad and am happy being her with you, Kelsey and Cassie" I said smiling "now go back and enjoy the party am fine" I said smiling.
"Are you sure? And next time get married to a detective who will always protect you, I always tell you that so promise me you will" he said
I nodd and smile " I promise dad" I kiss his forehead and he went back to the dance floor. I watch him dancing and laughing with Cassie and its makes me happy. I take my eyes from the dance floor for awhile and I feel a soft hand pulling me.
"Mom I want to show you something" Cassie said pulling my hands
"What pumpkin?" I ask following her
She just pull my hands and we stop in the lawn, it was beautiful with flowers and the green soft grass and the fresh air, its so lovely.
"This is beautiful Cassie, but we just go inside now its too dark out here" I said feeling scared.
"Mom just relax, I love you mom and I want you to be happy" she said hugging me
"I love you too pumpkin so much" I said hugging her back.
"Ok I want you to close yours eyes really tight and turn around, no peeking mom" she said.
I follow as she instructed "can I open them now?" I ask but she didn't answer. "Cassie" I call worried. I flick my eyes open and I can't believe what I saw, it was him Josh was infront of me on one knee and holding a silver box with a ring in it. Tears start to run from my eyes as I stare on him.
"I never stop thinking about you, I never stop searching for you, I never stop loving you and now I find you, I never want to let you go please be my wife Latoya Fields." He said with lust and care in his eyes.
I didn't know what to say, the tears fall harder "I don't know what to say" I whisper.
"Just say yes baby, I promise to be the best husband you ever had, I'll cherish you, love you......"
"Yes I'll marry you" I said with tears of joy.
He slide the ring on my finger and I jump on him in the grass and kissing him desperately. I hear cheering and clapping and a bright light shining around the place. I saw how happy my dad, Kelsey and Cassie were and so was I, now I find what was missing and I'm never gonna let him go.
