four white walls reside in my mind
it's where i go when i wish to hide
i can freely think there
and spend time in thought
without your words that tear me down
and make me think that you don't care
you draw me from my white walls
asking if i'm okay
i say i am with a smile
that doesn't quite reach my eyes
you're questioning all of my choices
and making my problems seem like jokes
so I retreat back to white walls
a place where i feel safe
sometimes demons try to claw their way in
to my room of solace
flashing me a sickening grin
but i shut the door and lock them out
for the words you speak are enough to ruin me themselves
if you keep talking
and throwing daggers at me with you glares
then i may have stay here
in my white walls with no cares
eventually these walls will crumble and fall
and my place of protection will be no more
i'll be stuck out there with you
with your words that rot my core
and in my head
i'll have to fight my fears once more

Poesiawords unspoken and lost, skittering away to plant themselves on paper. i'd love to hear feedback [it may or may not be vital for my self esteem]; thanks for taking the time to read my sad, silly thoughts. [lowercase intended.]
