he is standing on the edge of a cliff
all the crazed thoughts in his mind sent adrift
the wind furiously blows all around
but he's too far gone to hear it's sound
his bare toes drift closer to the jagged edge
his minds made up, he's going off the ledge
two simple thoughts he send up to his family
one is: "i love you," the other: "i'm sorry"
he takes one final look around
but the beauty he once saw is now long gone
a single tear escapes his eye
and then he leaps into the skytwo feet pounding not far behind
she watches him fall, sees him die
she collapses right there
her knees scraped, but doesn't care
she whisper a thought, just one will do
she says: "please don't go, i needed you too"
she knows she's too late, she wasn't enough
to help him stay, a debt to him never to be paid
now she lies there in utter sorrow
and wishes she could wake from this dream tomorrow
