Ethan arrives at the coral colored house, it stands tall among the other houses. He walks towards the gate and opens it making his way towards the front door. No longer needing pebbles, he texts Grayson letting him know he's arrived. Within a few seconds Grayson opens the door looking out into his yard to see Ethan warmly smile at him. He smiles back and walks out into the darkening afternoon as it transitions from day to night.
"Hey." Ethan greets while kissing his cheek.
"That's It?" Grayson questions clearly unsatisfied.
"What?" Ethan stares confused.
Grayson rolls his eyes with a laugh then grabs Ethan's face kissing him properly.
"That's better." He says against his lips.
Ethan sinks into the kiss, his dream from earlier still messes with his mind, no matter how hard he tries to forget it he can't stop the visions from taunting him.
Ethan smiles hugging him tight. He walks towards the front door before Grayson grabs his hand pulling him back.
"Can we stay outside for a bit?"
"Sure, of course." Ethan agrees surprised.
Grayson leads him to the driveway on the side of their house, he leaps up onto a brick divider that doubles as a bench.
"What'd you wanna come outside for?" Ethan asks.
Grayson takes out a pack of Marlboro's in response, flashing it in front of his face with a smile before he takes one out lighting it. He offers Ethan one but he declines as usual.
"Those are bad for you, you know?" Ethan states as he stares at his lover smoking the cigarette as ashes fall from it.
Grayson nods while inhaling deeply.
"Yeah, maybe that's why I like them. I'm always attracted to things that are bad for me." He answers blowing the smoke into the air.
Ethan's shows a confused expression. He wonders if Grayson is somehow talking about him. He suddenly gets irritated as he grabs the cigarette out of Grayson's mouth throwing it on the floor and grinding it into the ground with the bottom of his shoe.
"What the f-" Grayson says before he's cut off.
"Maybe it's time you stop doing things that are bad for you." Ethan states crossing his arms.
Grayson gets up rolling his eyes in response while reaching for his pack of cigarettes before Ethan grabs them and shoves them into his back pocket.
"Ugh, Fine." Grayson surrenders throwing his hands up.
"I don't even like them I just do it mostly because I'm bored." Grayson whines as he walks into the house. They sneak into Grayson's room as usual, Grayson shuts the door before taking off his sweater as he winces in pain.
"What?" Ethan stands cautiously.
"It's nothing." Grayson says carefully rubbing his clothed wrist. Ethan slowly pulls his sleeve up revealing tons of cuts, some look fresh.
"Why?" Ethan asks while running a hand down his face in frustration. He hates that his boyfriend hurts himself like this and there's nothing he can do to help.
"I don't know." Grayson states running his finger over them.
"I've been doing it for so long I guess it's just become a habit." he shrugs looking up at Ethan.
"Please stop." Ethan pleads as he hugs him tightly pressing kisses onto his neck.
"I'll try." Grayson says just to please Ethan, he honestly doesn't know if he can stop.
