Barry

It was our last day in Australia before going back to Virginia. I wanted to make up with Caitlin, I had a plan to go out to get coffee and sort out some kind of schedule or routine for Chloe and try and reconcile our friendship. I got changed into my usual atire, dress shirt, sweater over the top and some jeans. I have a nerdy/geeky aesthetic but nothing else really works for me. I spent about 10 minutes in front of the mirror fixing up any loose strands of hair that was out of place, my hair was a mess, but it was an organised mess. It had always been like that even since I was in high school, no matter what I did to it.

Sitting alone in a coffee shop was awkward enough, let alone my selfconcious fears of being ditched in the middle of a date. Even though this wasn't even a date, I was still nervous as hell. I only had one chance at this. This conversation could determine how much time I get to spend with Chloe.
"There you are," I said readjusting my collar.
"Sorry, I got a little held up," said Caitlin putting her stuff down on the seat beside her and grabbing out a small handbook and a pen.
"So do you have any preferences for days?" She asked.
"Well I was thinking every second weekend," I said making a suggestion.
"But maybe just come over to mine at first so it is a fimilar enviroment for her," she said scribbling down something in her book.
"Yeah sounds great," I said uncomfortably.
"Start the weekend we come back,"
"If you have any questions just give me a text, now excuse me I have other business to attend to," she said packing her stuff and leaving me alone at the table.
"Would you like some coffee sir?" Asked one of the employees.
"Yeah I'll get a to-go," I said staring off into space.

By the time I had gotten back from my walk around a local park area I had to pack and get ready to s say goodbye to Australia. Either I had brought more clothes here, because me stuff did not fit and I had to re-pack several times. For the last time Cisco did his final head count and like always everyone was here.
"Everyone in the van," said Julian sliding the door open for us all to enter in. I sat next to Hannah. But when I sat down she started to blush a bit and look the other way before saying "Hey Barry'' and I replied with a polite "Hey''

After the awkward car drive to the airport next to Hannah, in the plane I sat next to Grant again. I had a feeling he was going to ask if Caitlin and I had made up and sure enough he did.
"Not really, but I do think we are making progress," I said.
"Even a small amount of progress is better than none," said Grant comfortingly.
Now that the awkward silence had kicked in I knew it was my cue to grab out my earphones, sit back and rekax.

My earphone had been taken out but it wasn't by my hand.
"Plane is now basically landing," said Grant putting the earphone bud in my hand. I tied up my earphones and slid them back into my pocket. I pulled out my stuff from the overhead carrige and joined the queue to the exit. It had been a long flight and I struggled to stay awake while I was waiting for my suitcase tho come round on the conveyer belt. Cisco farwelled is and we left, by my guess most us were going straight to bed. I walked out into the car park and realised that Caitlin had driven me over and I had no way home. I noticed that Hannah was only just getting into her car.
"Hey Hannah, would you mind giving me a lift home," I asked politely, since she was so nice to me in Australia I guessed that she would be more than happy to give me a lift.

"Thanks for the lift,"
"Your welcome, see ya," she said. Before I walked away Hannah rolled down her car window.
"I've been meaning to ask you this but, do you wanna go out sometime?" Asked Hannah nervously. I had to think about this offer for a moment before relpying.
"Sure," I said.
