Chapter 5: the Fire Maiden Returns

          I was sitting in 5th hour, and everything had been set up, but there was no sign of the fire maiden. For a second I was thinking the goddess might have been wrong, but then a tremor came. I heard people scream "she's back!" It was go time. Everyone ran out, and I snuck out like last time. I hid and created my new armor and weapons, in addition to the mask.
          I could sense her magic quite clear now, so I ran to where I sensed it. I had created a tiny device that attached to my armor and hid my magic from others, so that neither she, nor her wolves could detect me. I ran at her and stabbed her from behind. She immediately reacted, and she blasted me with blue flames before I could even think. The blast was strong. Dispite my fire resistance, the blast still hurt like hell.
          "Hello there creator" she said. She didn't have time to do much damage, so a lot of students were watching the scene as they were in awe of our powers. I screamed at the top of my lungs with a strong, damanding tone "RUN! SHE WILL KILL YOU!" The students followed my orders and ran. "Oh, how I do love moving targets" the fire maiden said as she licked her finger, creating a flame.
         She shot a blast of fire, but I blocked it. This one was a weak blast, so my armor easily countered it. She got angry and said "you keep getting in my way. You got lucky last time, for I was told not to kill you, But this time, I was told to go all out." She seemed more angry and psychotic this time than she did last time. She used her fire as a propeller to hit me at an ultra fast speed. When she made contact, the force sent me flying through a wall of the school.
           I got up and she came at me again. "Amanda! Amelia! now!" I yelled, and a barrage of arrows came and hit her, exploding on contact. She was bruised, cut, and burnt. "What the hell was that!?" She screamed. She looked up and saw the girls on a cliff, aiming at her. They shot again, but she dodged this time. However, the explosion still hit her and knocked her to the side. The Fire Maiden reacted quickly, and she created bursts of flames, destroying their bows.
          While she was focused on them, I rushed her and started slashing rapidly, landing multiple cuts but no dead on hits. She soon blasted me away with a explosion of blue flames. "Fine, I guess it's time... THIS IS THE END!" She screamed as she did a psychotic laugh. Black and purple flames emitted from her as she laughed. "I'LL RIP YOU LIMB FROM LIMB AND BURN EACH PART OF YOU TO ASHES!!" She screeched as she blasted her flames at me. I tried to dodge out of the way, but the blast radius was too big. She hit me dead on, and she burned me a lot. If it werent for my armor, that attack would have really incinerated me.
          That one blast did a lot of damage, so I could barely stand up. I tried to get up and attack, but I couldn't, I was just too damged. "Well it was nice knowing you. HAHAHA! Who am I kidding? No it wasn't!" She said as she walked up to me, prepared to finish the job. She was about to put her hand on me and incinarate me, but just before she had the chance, she gasped and coughed up blood. I looked behind her and saw Amanda stabbing her with the poison dagger I gave her in case of emergancy. The poison was increadibly potent and killed her almost instantly.
          "Don't you ever touch him, he's my lo- my friend" I didn't understand what she was saying much as my ears were too damged to hear things clearly. She pulled the dagger out and let her fall over before hugging me. She was clearly crying but tried to hide it. "Dammit Lucien..." she was serious, she never called me Lucien, She always called me 'Luce.' She looked at me with tears in her eyes, and she said "stop being so reckless, I told you to just give us armor and weapons so we could fight with you, but you were too worried about us and made us fight from the sidelines"
          She put her head in my chest and continued "I dont want you to die I... I lo-" she was cut off by Amelia yelling "Lucien!" In a worried tone. She ran toward us as she was crying, and she said "please tell me you're okay..." as she joined in the hug. I smiled at them, ignoring the blood dripping from my head, and I said "I'm fine, I'm not dead and that's all that matters." I stood up slowly, struggling to stay up. The armor and weapons dissipated as I said "the fight is over... now lets go and play some video games like we always do after school..." I turned around and began to walk before immediately falling again and passing out.
          I woke up about 45 minutes later according to my watch. I was in my bed, and I was only half awake. I heard some female voices talking, and one said "dammit Amelia, I was gonna tell him!" I got up and walked out of the room, and I felt surprisingly well for how I was earlier. "Tell who what?" I asked as I walked into the living room, rubbing my head. The girls looked flustured as they saw me "nothing luce but, uh..." I raised an Eyebrow and asked "what is it?" I then looked down and noticed that I wasn't wearing a shirt "ahhhh! What the hell! Where is my shirt!" I said running back into my room. "Sorry we had to take off your shirt to treat the burns on your chest and stomach" amelia said nervously.
          I got a new shirt on and walked back out asking "how did you guys fully heal me? I mean, I feel perfectly fine" amanda smirked and said "well Luce, we are just that good" Amelia laughed and said "oh, come on Amanda, you know that's not true. You simply started healing really fast after a little bit of treatment." I wanted to question how that was possible, but I've never been one to look a gift horse in the mouth.
          After that, the girls went home. I was still curious what Amanda was saying earlier but I decided it was best to let it be. I then played some video games late into the night, knowing that the school would likely have to undergo repairs again. Not long after, i got a notification from a news app on my phone, and it read "A Real Life Superhero? 'The Creator' saves the day." I read the article and it had pictures and video of me using my power. luckily, nobody saw Amelia and Amanda jump into the fray. "This could mean big changes" I whispered to myself...
