The Creator

chapter 8: the Ember Ignites

          We headed to the scene to see 4 large, hulking stone creatures. They were throwing cars, wrecking buildings, and more. We got out of the car and we both acted on instinct. I used my speed boost to try and dash at one of the golems. I slashed with full strength, but I only cut halfway through its leg before my sword broke in half "oh shit!" I yelled as it's long arm swung at me like a baseball bat. The golem hit me, and I went flying through a window. Luckily, I had upped my armor with some physical resistance so I didn't break any bones.
          Amanda jumped into the fray, and she kept rapidly throwing fire at the area I had struck. I stood back, drawing a new blade 'damn these things are strong, and I have no idea what abilities they have. I need to go beyond my limits and summon a new tier of weapon' I thought as I worked on the design. It needed to be powerful, resilient, and capable of peircing and slicing through their ultra strength bodies. Eventually, I came up with the design. It was a long, straight bladed saber made of enchanted titanium. It was made to have the ability to slice through material ten times stronger than steel, and it had fire, ice, earth, and lighting elemental effects.
          Although, this was a new blade, so summoning it would drain me a lot so i i took my time to summon it slowly "Ama- Ember! Can you keep them at bay for about 5 minutes!?" I yelled. She smirked and yelled "please, I'll beat them myself in three! Even without your flashy creation." She then shot one more flame, melting the first golem's leg. The golem fell over and then she dashed at another golem and grabbed it's leg, using her newly discovered deep orange flames to immediately burn through the leg which caused it to fall over.
          She did the same to the other two and stood proud. "See? Peice of cake. they are all on the ground." She said panting heavily. In her cockyness, the golems regenerated and got up "watch out!" I yelled as one swung at her, she blasted flames at the ground and propelled herself back to me. I had just finished my new blade, but I was drained and I couldn't move "dammit, this doesn't look good" Amanda said after seeing my tired state. "Dont worry I have a plan. If you give me your mana, then I will have enough energy to take them down with this new weapon I created"
          she considered it, and she begrudingly gave me her mana. I could tell it was hard for her to let me have the spotlight, so I appreciated her cooperation. I stood up and used the mana to activate the effects of my armor and weapon. I sped toward one and diced it into clean cut peices. I activated the flame effect and burned the remaining peices.
          The 3 remaining golems rushed me. I readied up and slashed the closest one in half, freezing both parts and smashing them to peices. I then cut up the next one more delicately, first its arm, then a leg, and then it's head, and it stayed down. The last one was a bit more tricky, I was running out of mana but I had plenty left to finish him. I swung, but his body changed from stone to the same material as my blade. The sword bounced off and flung out of my hand. His body turned back to stone, but I was helpless without a weapon.
          I was about to be struck down, but Amanda came to my rescue. She used my blade to stab the golem and burn it. As the flames engulfed it, a disembodied voice said in a rough, dark tone "I am the creator, you are just an imitation.  The creature turned to ashes and Amanda collapsed on me "how many times am I gonna have to save you" she said weakly as I caught her. "Too many" I replied. A crowd had formed, and they were no longer scared, we were looking around, and they chanted "Ember! Creator! Ember! Creator!"
          I took out my notebook and opened the page to a portal I had drawn. We walked over to my car, and I opened the portal. It took me, the car, and amanda back to my house. "That was amazing!" Amelia yelled, jumping out to hug me. After that, the girls left and I went to sleep. Although, before I went to bed, I sent out a mental message to the goddess saying "speak to me" to which I received no answer...

A/N I am so sorry about the late chapter. As I mentioned, it was the finals week. My last final ended yesterday. After that, I was so done with everything that I more or less forgot about the book and napped the entire day. However, I now have plenty of time and no distractions for writing so I promise that I wont miss a chapter again
