Adelaide turned to Castiel. She put her hands in her back pockets and rocked back and forth on her feet.
"So," Adelaide started. He popped her lips together, making a smack noise. Then she continued, "what do you want to do?"
"Well, I can play board games with you and watch movies. I can also talk with you, about anything you'd like," Castiel explained. Adelaide looked down at her feet and blushed. She loved how Castiel cared for her already.
"How about we talk and get to know more about each other," Adelaide suggested. Castiel nodded. He motioned his hand toward the couch, silently telling Adelaide to take a seat. Adelaide plopped herself down on the warm, comfortable couch. She sunk into the cushion when Castiel sat down next to her. He was taller than she was, he was also a lot heavier. He almost towered over her. But it was nothing compared to her and Sam standing side by side. "What would you like to know?" Adelaide asked. Castiel gave her a confused look.
"I am an angel of the lord. I already know everything about everyone," he explained, like she was stupid for not knowing. Adelaide was stunned for a moment.
"Well that's not creepy at all," she sarcastically replied. Castiel quietly laughed, while biting his lip.
"What I mean is, I know you. I know your childhood, your dislikes, your interests, your soulmate-" Castiel was cut off.
"You know my soulmate?" Adelaide questioned. Castiel stopped for a moment. He looked like he had said too much. Castiel started to stutter.
"Well, I mean, I, um," he sputtered out of his mouth. Adelaide furrowed her eyebrows together.
"Are you not allowed to tell me?" She feared what he would say next.
"Well, technically, no. I am not. There's a time and place people meet their soulmates. Some even meet them, but don't know it for a while," Castiel explained. Adelaide immediately thought of Dean.
"Can you tell me when I'll meet mine?" Adelaide asked. Castiel sighed, as if he didn't want to.
"All I can say, is that you will find out your soulmate's true identity sometime next week." Adelaide's face lit up. She smiled like an idiot.
"Really?" Was all she could managed to squeak out. Castiel nodded. Adelaide cheered and threw herself into Castiel's arms. Castiel was shocked for a moment, but eventually hugged her back.
Castiel bad Adelaide continued to talk for what seemed like hours. They laughed and shared memories of their past. Castiel listened tentatively even though he already knew Adelaide's past, and has heard of all these stories. Adelaide loved how much Castiel listened to her. Time flew by and Adelaide looked at her phone. 9:00 pm.
"Woah," Adelaide said. "It's already nine o'clock." Castiel nodded.
"Would you like to watch a movie?" He asked. Adelaide thought and then nodded. "Horror?" Adelaide nodded again. She smiled brightly at Castiel. She was excited that someone she had just met understood her so well. It was almost just like her and Dean. "Okay. Well, I'll get the snacks and you pick out a movie from Netflix."
"Sounds good!" Adelaide exclaimed. She jumped up from the couch to grab the remote and Castiel went into the kitchen to find some snacks. When Adelaide finally found the remote, she returned to her spot on the couch. She flipped through what felt like a thousand movies, trying to find an interesting one. She finally settled on a movie called "Silent Hill". Silent Hill always freaked her out. She pressed play and paused it immediately, waiting for Castiel to return.
After about 5 minutes, Castiel waltzed into the living room, holding two large bowls in each hand. One contained a variety of chips and the other contained a variety of candies. He also had bottles of pop that he had set in the candy bowl temporarily, as well. After he set the bowls down on the coffee table, he pulled out the Pepsi and RootBeer bottles, along with two cups.
"So, what movie are we watching?" Castiel asked, as he poured Pepsi into a glass for himself.
"Silent Hill," Adelaide answered. Castiel nodded.
"I like that movie. It's very creepy. But, it's nothing I can't handle." Adelaide laughed at his joke. She didn't know an angel could be so funny. "Would you like Pepsi or RootBeer?" Castiel asked her, as he took a sip of his own pop.
"Pepsi, please." Castiel nodded and poured her a glass of Pepsi. "Shall I start the movie?" She asked.
"Yes, of course," he said, while handing Adelaide her glass of pop. Adelaide took a sip and then set it down on the coffee table.
"Do Sam and Dean have coasters here?" Adelaide asked, as she looked around for some.
"No. Sam and Dean don't exactly care about that kind of stuff," Castiel answered her. Adelaide just shrugged her shoulders and placed the cup on the table, leaving a water ring. While she was leaning forward, she grabbed a handful of chips. Castiel grabbed a handful of candies. She reached for the remote and aimed it at the tv. Adelaide pressed play and the two of them sat there, eating chips, laughing, and watching Silent Hill.
About two hours had passed, and the movie was over. Castiel looked to his right, and saw that Adelaide had fallen asleep on his shoulder. He sighed because he didn't want to move and wake her. But, he reluctantly and slowly moved himself, slowly guiding Adelaide's head to a pillow that he had set up for her. He smiled at her. She looked so peaceful sleeping. It was as if there wasn't anything harmful in the world. As if she was free from pain and stress. Castiel bent down and kissed her forehead. A small smile formed on Adelaide's lips, which made Castiel smile even more. He walked over to the library and started to read books, making sure that he kept himself entertained for the night and didn't leave Adelaide alone.
Morning had creeped up Castiel quickly. He was still reading books, even though he knew everything already, a perk of being an angel. His eyes wondered over to Adelaide when he heard her rolling around and grunting. He gently set the large book down and walked over to the couch. Adelaide was just waking up, her eyes were slowly fluttering open. Castiel carefully sat down beside her, watching her wake up. Adelaide's eyes finally opened fully and the first thing she saw was Castiel. She smiled at him while stretching her arms out.
She rubbed her eyes and whispered, "Morning, Cas." Castiel smiled at the nickname she had picked up on from the Winchester's.
"Good morning, Adelaide," he greeted her back. "Did you sleep well?"
"Yea. I actually did. Thanks for asking." Castiel gave her a soft, genuine smile.
"Of course. Are you hungry?" He asked her. Adelaide slowly sat up.
"I'm starving," she giggled, making Castiel chuckle a bit. "Do we have pancakes here?"
"I'm sure Sam and Dean do. I'll make you some," he offered. He sat up and started walking into the kitchen. Adelaide smiled. She was happy that she had such a good friend in her life. Even though she had just met him. She knew this was going to be a good week.
