As Adelaide walked into the living room, Castiel and Sam's eyebrows raised and their mouths dropped. Sam tried to say something, but failed. The only thing that came out of his mouth was bits and pieces of words that ended up in stutters. Adelaide giggled at their reactions.
"Yea. I know. And the best part is she's mine," Dean said proudly. Adelaide smiled shyly at Dean and blushed. She giggled as she buried her head into his shoulder. "Well, we gotta go. I have an amazing night planned for us." Adelaide and Dean said goodbye to Sam and Castiel before they took off to their date.
Dean opened the passenger door for Adelaide. She nodded at him and elegantly got into the car. Dean made sure she was seated comfortably before closing the door and climbing into the driver's seat. Dean started up Baby and looked over at you.
"Ready?" He asked. It was clear that he was excited. Adelaide smiled.
"Yup!" Dean grinned and started to drive off to this date he had planned. Adelaide could feel butterflies in her stomach. She knew they weren't because she was going on a date with Dean, though. They were because she was nervous of how Dean will react when she tells him that she's his soulmate. She knew it was silly to be so nervous. But there was still a thought in the back of her mind that Dean might break up with her when he finds out.
"Are you okay, beautiful?" Dean asked her. Adelaide melted at the nickname she adored. She loved hearing Dean call her that.
"Yea, yea. I'm good. Just excited, that's all. Anyway, where are we going?" Adelaide asked him, making a desperate effort to change the subject. Dean gave her an unsure look.
"Well, there's this beautiful spot that I like to go to when I have to clear my mind. Usually, I go to a bar," Dean laughed. "But, sometimes, I go to this special spot. It has a waterfall, a nice spot to have a picnic, it's just breathtaking. Like you. You'll love it." Adelaide blushed. She had to admit, Dean was quite a romantic guy when he wanted to be. Despite the tough-guy image he tries to play.
"It sounds amazing," Adelaide sighed. "I can't wait." Dean smiled at her. He was glad that she was just as excited as he was. Finally, after about 15 minutes, Dean pulled up to a gravel parking spot.
"I forgot to tell you. Sorry about this, but we gotta walk a little bit to get to the spot," Dean told Adelaide as he looked down at her heels. "But, if you want, I can carry you." Adelaide laughed at Dean's cute offer. She reached down at pulled up a pair of sandals. Dean's expression quickly turned from worried to surprised.
"Thanks, handsome, but I'm all good. Usually after I wear heels for a while, my feet start to hurt. So, I've just learned to keep sandals on me so I can change into them." Dean nodded his head, he was clearly impressed.
"Smart," he complimented her. Adelaide gave him a big, cheesy smile. Dean got out of the car and went to the trunk of the Impala. He slowly opened it and revealed a picnic basket sitting there.
"Wow. I really overdressed," Adelaide commented. Dean picked up the basket and turned towards her. He placed one hand on her cheek and pulled her in for a quick kiss.
"You look beautiful," Dean assured her. Adelaide could feel her face start to heat up. "Okay! Are you all ready?" Adelaide nodded. "Follow me!" Dean exclaimed. He grabbed Adelaide's hand with his left one and carried the basket in his right hand. "It's just up a little bit more."
After about 5 minutes, Dean brushed aside a few low branches from an old oak tree and revealed a beautiful scenery. Adelaide gasped.
"Wow...it's beautiful!" She exclaimed. Dean gave her a cheeky smile.
"Just like you." Adelaide smiled and pulled him in for a long, passionate kiss. Once they pulled away, Dean leaned down and set up the picnic he had brought with them on a large, flat rock that was embedded in the cliff beside the waterfall. He sat down and patted the spot beside him. Adelaide took her shoes off and sat down beside Dean, along with placing her shoes beside her. "Wine?" Dean asked.
"Yes, please." Dean grabbed a bottle of wine and two glasses from the picnic basket. He slowly poured each of them a tall glass of red wine.
"So, you know what I was thinking?" Dean started. Adelaide pulled her glass away from her lips and hummed as she swallowed the beverage.
"What?" She asked as she gently set her glass down on the blanket.
"That we should get to know each other better. You know? Birthdays, likes, dislikes," Dean trailed on. Adelaide started to overthink — something she caught herself doing quite a bit lately. What if he finds out my last name before I can tell him? Adelaide thought. It's okay. Just avoid last names. She reassured herself. Little did she know, Dean had the same plan in place.
"Sounds amazing," she agreed. Dean beamed at her. "I'll start. When's your birthday?" She asked.
"January 24, 1979," Dean answered. Adelaide nodded. "How about you?"
"February 4, 1979." Dean nodded. "What's your favourite food?"
"Is that even a question? All food is awesome! Especially burgers and pie! Gotta love me some pie!" Dean started to trail off. Adelaide giggled.
"Man, you really love food!" She exclaimed.
"Well, it was my first love," Dean joked. Adelaide put her hand over her mouth as she quietly laughed. "Anyway," Dean started. The night went by very quickly for Adelaide and Dean. They both had an amazing night. Getting to know Adelaide made Dean fall even more in love with her and getting to know Dean made Adelaide fall even more in love with him. Both of them were very happy. Which made Adelaide's nerves even worse about telling Dean. Dean and Adelaide were in the Impala, driving back to the bunker.
"I had an amazing night. Thank you," Adelaide broke the silence. Dean smiled at her.
"Anytime. I'm glad you had a good time. I did too," Dean replied, making butterflies appear in Adelaide's stomach. She felt like she was on Cloud 9. "Hey, when we get back to the bunker, why don't we go to bed," Dean winked at her.
"I'd love too." Dean, once again, beamed at Adelaide. She suddenly felt the car start to speed up. She giggled at Dean's clear excitement. Not too long after, Dean pulled Baby into the garage of the bunker. Adelaide and Dean both stepped out of the car and made their way inside. Dean followed Adelaide into their room, while keeping his hand on her waist. They finally made it into the room. Dean started to quickly strip his shirt off.
"I'll be right back. I just need to quickly use the washroom," Adelaide excused herself. Dean nodded and sat down on the bed. She ran the taps and put her arm under the luke-warm running water. She washed the makeup off her arm that was covering Dean's name. She then splashed some water on her face and looked at herself in the mirror.
"You got this. You can do this. All you gotta do is show Dean your arm and just tell him. That's all that you gotta do. It's that simple," she told herself. She stayed in the bathroom until she had built up enough confidence. Finally, she had enough courage to go tell Dean. She stood up from the side of the bathtub and started for the door. She unlocked the door and slowly opened the door. To her surprise, Dean was standing there. He was leaning against the doorframe, a position that Adelaide found very hot. She opened her mouth to say Dean's name, but Dean beat her to it. He slowly revealed his arm to Adelaide. She stared in amazement at her name on Dean's arm. She was amazed that Dean knew she was Adelaide Collins. He must have heard me talking to myself in there. She said to herself.
"I love you, Adelaide Collins," Dean whispered. Adelaide raised her arm and showed Dean his name.
"And I love you, Dean Winchester," Adelaide replied. Dean smiled and pulled her in for a long, passionate kiss. "Finally," Adelaide whispered after they pulled away.2 Years Later
Adelaide woke up on Dean's chest. She smiled to herself. She slowly sat up and studied the beautiful ring on her left ring finger. As she twirled the diamond around, she couldn't help but smile. She slowly slipped it off and placed on the nightstand. She studied the name that was etched within her skin. She smiled at it, this time, instead of frowning. She no longer wondered when she was going to meet Dean Winchester. She finally met him. She laid back down and cuddled into Dean. She was finally happy. She finally met her soulmate. She was happy that everything worked out. She still couldn't believe that Dean Winchester was her soulmate. She still couldn't believe that this amazing man was hers. She still couldn't believe that her name was now Adelaide Winchester. All thanks to the soulmate's signature that was etched within her right arm.
