Annabeth's POV
I was walking home from work with my best friend Thalia. I was an architect probably one of the youngest having just turned 20 and she was a policewoman one of the precincts in New York. I happened to be doing some remodeling nearby so today we could walk hometogether instead of me taking the bus alone. All of the sudden I bumped into someone.
"Hey watch where you're-" I started to say, but then I looked up to see the most handsome face I had ever seen. His hair was in black waves and his bright, sea green eyes looked even brighter against his tan skin. Something seemed strange, he seemed so... familiar.
"I'm so sorry." He said, reaching out a hand to pull me up. I took it, feeling his strong grip lift me back to my feet. "I hope you're alright, I feel rather clumsy for knocking you down like I did." He said with a quick blush.
"No, it's fine. I'm alright, no bumps or bruises so I'll be okay." I said jabbering on because I didn't know what to say. "I'm, uh, Annabeth by the way." I said, blushing myself.
"Perseus, but you can call me Percy." He said.
"Thalia, I'm here too." Said Thalia waving her hand to get his attention, but his eyes were locked on me.
"I hope to see you again soon Annabeth." He said bringing my hand to his lips softly and walking away.
"Annabeth... Annabeth... ANNABETH!" Thalia yelled, breaking me out of my trance.
"What?" I asked.
"That guy was kinda weird. I mean, most people say sorry and move on their way." She said and we continued to walk, turning onto our street.
"He was such a...gentleman." I said dreamily.
"Annie, you can't just fall head over heels for random strangers. You hardly know the guy." She said crossing her arms in annoyance. "Also, you don't know where he lives, let alone his last name!"
"He isn't just a random-" I started to say, but I realized that he was just a random stranger. "I'm not head over heels, he just seemed so familiar like I had seen him somewhere before." I said.
"Ugh, whatever. I just wanna get home and take a nap." Said Thalia as we came to our apartment building. Me too, I thought.
Percy's POV
I can't believe I saw her at last. So many years of searching and here she is. Annabeth. I dove into the water, changing my legs back into my tail. It been so long since I've walked on land.
"Perseus!" Someone called. I turned to see my half brother Triton swim up beside me.
"For the love of the gods, you know I hate it when you call me Perseus." I said.
"Percy, this is serious. Mom and Dad, they want to see you now. I hope whatever you did isn't as bad as they're making it sound." He said gravely. My dad is Poseidon and my step mother Amphitrite is Triton's mother, but she still likes to count me as hers.
"Oh." I said quietly, following Triton to the throne room where I went to face my possible doom.
