Annabeth's POV
This was the beach where I woke up. I tried jogging my memory, but there seemed to be a wall blocking the rest of the memory from my mind.
"Don't go too far, I don't want you freaking out again." Called Thalia
"Don't worry, I'm just walking along the shoreline." I called back. I knew I wasn't crazy and Thalia wasn't being any help to prove my sanity. Just then I saw a figure pop up above the waves. The black hair, the sea green eyes, it was Percy, but just before I could call out he disappeared beneath the waves. I probably just imagined it.
Percy's POV
I came up to my favorite beach, because it's the beach where I first met Annabeth, and who would you know is there but Annabeth herself. As she spotted me, I came to the quick thought that she might freak out if she saw what I really looked like so I ducked under and swam behind a rock...
Annabeth's POV
I knew he was out there, I had to see him. I started wading out into the water. I saw his face poke out from behind a rock, now I knew I wasn't imagining things.
"Percy?" I called, but he ducked behind the rock. What was going on with him?
Percy's POV
Annabeth was getting closer and she had seen me. I tried to swim away, but my tail snagged on a rock and when I tried to free it, it wouldn't budge. I couldn’t risk ripping my fin. Now I was trapped with Annabeth slowly closing in on me.
Annabeth's POV
"Annabeth." I heard him call my name and I ran through the water. "Annabeth, stop. Don't come any closer." He said.
"Why?" I asked, I was so close I needed him now.
"Ow! No, come on!" I heard him scream desperately, I ran over hearing his pain, but as I rounded the corner I saw a sight that I had only seen once before. Percy was a merman.
"Annabeth, no!" He called, but my mind raced, filling in the holes that had been covered like mist falling away.
I saw a boy, about my age with sea green eyes and wavy black hair. He was caught in fishing twine and a net was caught all over his body. That was when I saw that the boy had no legs, his lower half was covered in blue-green scales that ended in a fin. He caught sight of me and started to struggle harder.
"No please, I won't hurt you, let me help." I said soothingly, walking slowly over to the mer boy. I slowly started to untangle him from the net and twine, finally he was free.
"Thank you." He said, then kissing me on the cheek I blacked out, waking up in the arms of my father.
"Annabeth!" Thalia was screaming at me, shaking my shoulders. She looked like she was crying. "Thank God you're okay!" She said pulling me into a hug. That's when I noticed Percy on the beach beside me, except he was a merman!
"Percy!" I said looking at him. "You really are a merman, oh my god." I said embracing him, he pulled me into a kiss and once we broke apart Thalia spoke up.
"What's going on? One minute, aquaman over here pulls you unconscious on to the beach, the next you are making out with him. What the heck?" Said Thalia looking really confused.
"What is going on?" I asked Percy.
