Annabeth's POV
"I need to take you back to my kingdom." He said quietly.
"What? I can't. I have a life here, I can't just disappear." I said, my mind was telling me that this wasn't a good idea, but my heart made me want to hold Percy and never let go.
"Annabeth, it could get dangerous for you here and..." He stopped.
"And what!" Thalia yelled, "this is my best friend we're talking about here, fish-boy!"
"Can you at least not yell to the world, kinda still a merman here." Said Percy gesturing to his tail before he slowly turned them into legs.
"What were you gonna say Percy?" Just saying his name made me feel lighter then air. Annabeth focus, possible danger here!
"Annabeth, you feel that don't you?" Asked Percy. "You get that feeling, your heart knows what it wants, please." He said desperately.
"I can't just pack up and leave, I have Thalia to think about." I said, my heart and mind pulling me in different directions. "I can't do this." I said and I ran off towards Thalia's car.
Thalia's POV
"Annabeth!" Percy and I yelled at the same time. We looked at eachother and ran after her.
"Dang it! She took my car!" I said. "Come on, looks like we're walking."
Percy's POV
We walked in silence for a long time. Thalia was the first to break the ice.
"So, you're a mer prince." She said.
"Yeah." I said awkwardly.
"If you really love her, then watch it cause if you break her heart, I will break you and your fish tail." She said sternly looking at me with electric blue eyes that burned with a fire of rage and pain. We got to the apartment building and found it eerily quiet.
"What the-"Thalia's comment was cut short by a familiar scream.
"AAAAAAAHHHH!"
"Annabeth!" We said then raced into the apartment.
"Luke!" I growled. "Leave her out of this, this is between you and me." Luke had Annabeth trapped in a corner. And looked like he was about to pounce when Thalia and I burst in.
"Luke? I-I thought you were dead." I looked over to see Thalia crying.
"It takes more than a couple of crooks and a few bullets to slow me down dear Thalia." He said menacingly. "In fact, I have my own army now. I don't need a stupid, worthless, uncaring mortal like you anymore. You failed me." He said as Thalia burst into sobs and I took the distraction to pull out my sword and swing it right through Luke's manic grin, but it passed clean through him.
"What?" I asked.
"Oh Percy, so naive. Don't you see?" Luke laughed, "this was just a warning. You were foolish enough to think that I would let you so close to killing me? I'm ashamed. See you later Percy. I'll be back" He smiled and then disappeared. I rushed over to Annabeth and picked her up, pulling her into a passionate kiss.
"Annabeth never, EVER run off like that again!" I said once we parted. I looked into her stormy grey eyes to calm her fear. "I need to get both of you back to my palace NOW! We don't have time to argue." I carried out Annabeth, bridal style, and Thalia dried her eyes and followed.
