 Annabeth's POV

Thalia drove and all the way Percy held me close. We reached the beach and Percy helped me out of the car and we walked down to the water, but I stopped.

"Percy, how are we supposed to breathe?" I asked gesturing to Thalia and I.

"I'm the son of an immortal god, trust me." He said and I took his hand with Thalia grasping my other one so tightly that I couldn't feel it anymore and we dove into the water. Surprisingly, when I opened my mouth to breathe, it was like breathing air, I pointed at my mouth to tell Thalia that she could breathe. Thalia let out a breath.

“Holy crap I’m breathing, underwater!” she said looking really freaked out.

"Annabeth, follow me." Said Percy, in merman form, taking my hand and pulling Thalia and I along to his palace.

Percy's POV

I felt Annabeth shiver and I pulled her into my arms.

"Are you okay?" I asked as I looked over to see Annabeth crying.

"I-it's just that Luke, I thought h-he was dead. 7 years ago, Thalia and I got a call that said that Luke was dead... Shot in a robbery. We had known him since we were young, h-he was like our brother. And,” she paused to take a deep breath, “and now he’s a monster." She said and I gave her a comforting squeeze. She seemed to have calmed down, but her face was still tear-stained.

"It will be okay." I said to reassure her, though I wasn't really sure if it would ever be okay.

“As long as I’m with you.” she said looking up at me with a small smile. I smiled back and pulled her closer and Thalia swam closer to us, seeming to have recovered from the encounter. Her eyes suddenly grew wide and she pointed down and Annabeth and I looked down to see my father’s palace.

“We’re here.” I said with a smile.

Annabeth’s POV

“We’re here.” Said Percy with a smile, his perfectly white teeth shown underwater and contrasted with his tan skin. I kept looking behind us to see Percy’s blue-green tail flick gracefully through the water.

“Enjoying the view?” he said with a playful grin, catching my stare.

“Uh, yeah the palace is amazing.” I said, my face burning a deep shade of red. Why did he have to be so attractive.

“Uh Aquaman, what’s that?” I woke from my thoughts and looked to where Thalia was pointing. I gasped to see  that part of the palace was destroyed.

“Percy-” I suddenly felt a strong jolt as Percy grabbed Thalia and I because he pulled us along with him as he sped towards the largest section of the smoking building. His eyes were wide with concern and determination as we entered the palace.
