Ashton-

“I drove by all the places we used to hang out getting wasted”

My hands tensed on the steering wheel, my knuckles turning white.

I remember it clear as day.

I sat in the grass, pulling at the root of the green.

“Hey.” She sat down next to me.

“You’re late.” I smiled, entwining our fingers loosely.

“Yeah” I could the mischief hidden through her voice, “But I have a reason,” She reached behind her, pulling out a glass bottle.

“Jack Daniels?” I chuckled, her handing me the bottle to open.

“I was walking through the store and saw it. I thought, ‘Hey! Why the hell not?’ and got it.”

“You did, didn’t you?” I disconnected our fingers to form a grip on the bottle and twist the cap.

“You do realize that I can’t drive you home after this.” I searched for the glasses.

“I never assumed that you would.” She smirked, handing them over. I poured the beverage into the small shot glasses, handing Y/N one and then twisting the cap back on the bottle.

“Cheers,” I went to throw the shot back, but Y/N stoped me.

“To what?” She stared at me intently.

“To…” I thought for several seconds, “To us. Our future-Until death do us part.”

Y/N smiled, raising her glass to mine and sealing the deal with a clattered ‘clink’.

The vision rips through me; the sound of the shot glasses burning like the alcohol did that day.

Y/N and I grew apart after her birthday party that year. She went with her friends and met new people while I was busy with the band and by the end of it all, she told me that she didn’t feel the chemistry anymore and although I was head over heels for her- and I still am- I agreed with her to end the relationship because, and this will sound shallow,  but Y/N was always the popular one in school and people always thought what the hell she was doing with me, a Dragon-Ball-Z nerd. So I just agreed, and went along with it all.

And trust me; going along with it is the biggest mistake I have ever made.

Michael-

I remember the day you told me you were leaving

I remember the make-up running down your face

And the dreams you left behind you didn't need them”

“Yeah Michael. I’m getting deported.” Y/N nods, if it were to re-assure both me and herself.

“Y-You’re actually l-leaving?” My eyes widen, “Like… to war?”

Y/N nods her head sadly, her hands covered in the dark mascara she’s been attempting to rub away with her tears.

“I-I don’t even remember being there, you know? I’ve been away from it all for so long. I thought that they didn’t need me anymore.” She explains, “I... Michael, they called this morning a-and said that I leave tonight,” She cries, “Tonight! I won’t even get to say goodbye to everyone.”
