Attack on titan is one of the most successful anime's, but you might wonder about some plots and twists. I'm here to answer as many questions as possible. Request in the comments!
This is the backstory to Grisha Yeager, Eren's father.
Grisha was born to an Eldian family in the Marley country outside the walls on January 16th to Mr and Mrs Yeager. A few years later, Faye Yeager was born.

Since the two were Eldians, they were restricted to the Liberio Internment zone and viewed on by the Marley as 'impure'. Faye had a love for blimps, so one day Grisha took Faye to see a blimp take off outside the internment zone.
Unfortunately, the two were caught by Marley officers who were watching the blimp too. The officers took pity and relaxed the punishment. Grisha was beaten and Faye was taken home by the officer.

But when Grisha was escorted home, Faye wasn't there. The next day, her body was found by the riverbank, covered in blood and ripped apart.

After 7 years, Grisha found out that the officer who escorted Faye back fed her to dogs. Grisha then assembled a group of Eldians who wanted to contribute to the down bringing of the Marleyans.
