Connie's home town, Ragako Village, is located in the Southern area of Wall Rose. It is known that titans appeared in Wall Rose but there was no evidence of the titans breaking through.

In an earlier chapter it was discussed that titans were humans, and the titans in Wall Rose were the citizens of Ragako Village.

The statistics match up exactly, the amount of titans within Wall Rose was equivalent to the population of Ragako Village. The houses were destroyed from the inside and the horses were left behind. Not a single drop of blood either.

The reason they were turned into titans was because of the beast titan.
The titan shifter infiltrated the village in human form, then turned the village residents into titans. He is later seen climbing Wall Rose again to exit and go back to Marley.

The titan in Connie's house couldn't move. The legs and arms couldn't support the body so it would be impossible for that titan to get there in the first place.

This titan was suspected to be Connie's mother, and spoke to Connie saying "Welcome Home". And after Connie reported the incident to Hange, they came up with the idea of humans turning into titans.
