Sorry if it's not accurate. Anyways.
"So does Steve Rogers have a special lady?" Peggy Carter asked as they rode to where he'd be experimented on.
Steve momentarily looked down at his lap before looking back out the window.
"Steve... Are you okay?"
He turned to look at her trying to smile before turning back to the window. "I... I'm fine. And... I did... At least I think I did."
"Oh Steve I'm sorry. We don't have to-"
"No it's fine. She... She was killed in a hit and run, at least that's what the police said. I'm not so sure. Nobody even claimed to witness it. Also, they didn't let her family see her body. It doesn't add up, but after a while I just gave up because she's not coming back."
Peggy grabbed his hand, but he gently pulled away from her grasp causing her to frown. "What was her name?"
"Her name was y/n l/n. We had been friends since we were toddlers and even then I had a big crush on her. She stood up for what's right, and she inspired me to do the same. Though she really didn't like me getting in fights. She didn't baby me either. She let me do things for myself, though I could tell she worried despite saying she wasn't. She went with me to all the dances because I wanted to go. She loved to dance, but she hated school functions. She was pure and bright. She was... Everything I could hope for in the woman I'd want to be with. I loved her. I still love her. I just wish I knew what really happened to her."
He leaned his head on the window glass. When he looked out, he could've sworn it he saw her, but it was probably all a mirage.
"Steve... You said her name was y/n l/n right?"
Steve looked up from the window back at her. "Yes."
Peggy looked forward and she noticed the military personnel shaking his head at her.
"What is it Peggy?"
She wanted to tell him so badly. His puppy eyes were very hard to not say anything, but she said something else instead. "She sounded like a nice woman."
"I just wish she didn't have to die young. She was only eighteen. Eighteen."
"That's awful. Do you know if she loved you too?"
"I don't know. I'd like to think so. There was this one time at Christmas where we were out walking together when an old couple told us we couldn't enter their little shop until we kissed since we were under the mistletoe. I guess they thought we were a couple. Well I was just going to leave, but she kissed me. It felt so real that after that day, I was convinced she loved me just as much."
"Steve.... I...." She hugged him whispering into his ear, "Maybe she's still out there, and she needs saving." She pulled away and he looked shocked. She only nodded her head and looked back at the military personnel noticing he didn't catch on.
After all that happened Steve didn't stop thinking about what Peggy told him. Y/n was out there and alive. Or at least he hoped. (In this though I love Steggy, there was no romance or kiss between them in this)
Eventually the ice and water consumed him and he fell into a deep sleep.
Then he woke up. He was in a hospital, but this was all wrong. He ended up leaving the room running to try and find an escape. Then he was in the world. A different world where a man he met would ask him to eventually join the Avengers initiative.
Steve was already getting tired. Everyone was dead. Well Peggy wasn't, but she was losing her memories. Even if y/n was alive, she would be old and withered most likely she had settled down married a good man and had children of her own, and Steve was here young in a big ship that flew in the air.
Steve didn't trust these people. He went to a classified area. He noticed weapons. Then he noticed a tube of metal with wires everywhere. He managed to open it, and he was in shock.
There was y/n in water half frozen and half liquid. Her hair was to the top of her bum, and it was a mixture of blue hues. She had a glow almost as if she was bioluminescent or something.
Steve eventually broke the code draining the frozen and liquid water alike, and the glass paneling opened. She was still unresponsive so her weight brought her forward and Steve caught her moving her so he would be carrying her bridal style. He walked angrily to the meeting room.
"Fury. What. Did. You. All. Do. To. My. Y/n." His voice was stern. He needed answers.
"Steve... I didn't do anything... Y/n was taken by Hydra when she was eighteen, an insider on the newspaper, police, and hospital all worked to make it as a hit and run. She wasn't actually put in that chamber until she was twenty-four. Thankfully our people were able to rescue her. Unfortunately that was over sixty years ago, and I was not allowed to release her because they were scared they had already gotten to her."
"So Peggy did know."
"She did, but are would get in trouble if she told you to much."
"Oh... So what now."
"Well Gramps, you're gonna have to wait and see if your girlfriend is going to destroy everything in her path or not." Tony came in popping a blueberry in his mouth.
Steve sighed and he decided to take her to his room. He dried her off and put one of his sweaters on her. He realized she did look older, for some of her features had matured. He also realized that they were the same age to begin with, but now she's two years younger than him.
Eventually she opened her eyes, and though Steve wouldn't want to hurt her, he had his shield nearby just in case. However she didn't attack. She just looked... Lost.
Then her eyes met his. The lost look was replaced with relief and a little bit of panick.
"Steve... Where are we? Why was I tortured? They said I'd forget, but I remembered everything. I tried to escape, but they were quicker. I eventually played along until I was frozen. They made me this way... They... They have."
Steve hugged her tightly gently shushing her. "It's okay y/n. I'm here now, and I'm never leaving you again." He ran his hand through her hair.
He felt her breathing return to normal and her heartbeat slow. She cutely yawned before whispering to him "I love you Stevie."
"I love you too angel." He kissed her forehead looking down realizing she fell asleep. He held her close joining her on his bed (nothing dirty ew) making sure she was okay until he finally got some of the best sleep he'd had in a while.
