Since Steve was suspended from the college, he had plenty of time to find a way to help y/n. She told him the man's name was Vincent. Y/n told Steve that Vince was often found at the local art museums when he wasn't working.

Y/n showed Steve what Vince looked like, and Steve was planning on finding him pretty soon. He wanted to know Vince's thoughts.

"Stevie, I just wanted to say that Vince and I hardly know each other. I've only talked to him three or four times other than when we first met for his staged proposal and our engagement photos."

He pulled her into his arms and kissed the top of her head. He hated she was going through this. "I'll find a way to talk to him. In fact, why don't you stay here, and I'll try to go find him now."

Y/n pulled away and looked out Steve's window. "I hate that you're having to do this, but if you think it might work, you can go ahead and go."

She turned back around and Steve kissed her cheek. "Help yourself to whatever you want. If you want to take a nap go ahead. If"

Y/n kissed him quickly pulling away. "I get it Stevie. Thank you."

He nodded and walked out the door. He didn't want to leave her alone, but he didn't think she'd want to see Vincent. He was only doing what he thought was in her best interests.

After some time, Steve found Vincent. He was looking at a Van Gogh, which, through y/n, Steve learned Vincent's parents were obsessed with the artist.

"Vincent?"

"Oh hello. You must be Steve." He walked to Steve and extended his hand.

"I don't understand." Steve replied shaking his hand.

"I've seen her text you, and her screensavers are of you and her as well. She hasn't told me about you, but I know she loves you."

They began to walk and Steve felt his cheeks heat up just thinking of her. "If you don't mind me asking, do you want to marry her?"

"Y/n is a great woman. She is extremely sweet, but I don't want to marry her."

Vincent pulled out a picture of a lady and smiled. "This is the lady I want to marry. Her name is Wanda, and we've been dating since we were fifteen."

Steve felt relieved that Vince didn't have feelings for y/n. "Y/n told me about."

"Yes. Unfortunately, we are in the same boat. I didn't know about it until they told me I had to propose. They told me once y/n and I got married, I wouldn't be able to see Wanda ever again."

Vincent sat down resting his head on his hands. Then, he looked back to Steve. "Neither y/n or I want children either. I assume she told you that."

Steve nodded and grew rather angry. "Have you tried to tell them how you feel?"

"Many times actually. Mother and father can't be swayed, and y/n's parents can't be either. They've had this planned since y/n and I were born. It's crazy because we didn't even meet until we were of marrying age."

Steve sat opposite of him trying to think of something. "Does Wanda know that you want to marry her?"

Vince looked to Steve, and Steve could see the pain in Vincent's eyes. "I proposed to her a week before my parents told me of my arranged marriage. I just wish my parents would let me be with Wanda. If they're so concerned about money, Wanda's parents have money."

Steve was in the same position. His parents also had the kind of money that y/n's parents would want if that were the issue. Then, Steve smiled.

"Vincent, I think I have an idea."
