Y/n had been relatively calm since the accident. Steve convinced Bruce to let him take y/n in his care. He was surprised that she was familiar with modern life, but at the same time, he was sad that she couldn't remember anything about him or her past.
He noticed she was a bit different, but he expected it. She was quiet shy ever since she was allowed to leave the medical wing. Even though she didn't remember him, she had grown attached to him. She was always holding his hand, and she only talked to him.
"Steve... Umm... Can we go somewhere to get food? I don't think I've had anything to eat in a long time."
"Of course. Where would you like to go?" He smiled squeezing her hand.
"I remember once passing a McDonald's. It doesn't matter. I just want a burger and fries."
Steve nodded taking her to his truck. He had to keep a chuckle at bay because even then, y/n loved a good burger and fries.
She stayed close to him as he ordered their food. They ate, and y/n didn't speak much except for to thank Steve for bringing her to the restaurant.
"Is their anything you want to do today before we go back to the tower?" Steve whispered as she finished the rest of her food.
"Well, there's this thing called roller skating. I think I'd like to try it." She looked up to Steve smiling.
"How about we get you settled in the tower first, and maybe we can go roller skating tomorrow."
She pouted, and then she smirked, "I bet you've never been, and you're just scared."
"I'm not." He huffed.
"Yes you are." She swung her hand that held his. "Please... I haven't even been that aware since whatever happened, but I can see you overwork yourself. You need to take a break. I can tell that those people love you, and they wouldn't mind if you took a day off."
He looked to her and smiled. "I know, but it's getting late."
"Okay. I get it. You can take me home I guess." she shrugged looking down.
When they returned, y/n reverted back to being shy. Steve introduced her to the team, and she just quietly listened. Then he took her to his floor.
"You'll stay with me okay."
"Alright." She whispered.
Steve began to show her everything on the floor including her room. He handed her some of his spare pyjamas.
She took the pyjamas and looked down at them. "Thank you Steve, for everything. Thank you for letting me stay here. You're so sweet."
Steve blushed looking to the floor then he looked back to her. "My room will be right across the floor if you need me. Goodnight y/n."
"Goodnight Steve."
He walked to his room still blushing as he got ready for bed. He had a feeling that things would get better even if she didn't fully get back her memory.
Steve finally found his graduation cap among the sea of grad caps. He walked over to y/n who was away from the crowd.
"I can't believe you didn't throw your cap with everyone else."
"Sorry Stevie, I just didn't see the point." She giggled taking off her cap.
"I can't believe we've graduated Sunshine. I wonder what we'll do now."
"Well, for now we are going to Coney Island." She grabbed his hand and headed to the car with Steve trailing behind.
Steve and y/n finally made it to the boardwalk and began to ride some of their favorite rides. They played carnival games until they were almost out of money. They shared cotton candy and danced to music.
