Cardi POV
"My feet hurt!"I complained once we got back in the house. Kiari and I had spent the whole entire morning driving around Miami and observing the scenery.
"Lay down, let me give you a foot massage."
"You're perfect."I smiled and went over to the couch. He took my shoes and socks off and let me lay down on the sofa. "Dang girl, your feet ugly as hell."He yelled and I smacked my lips together.
"Mine look better than yours, shut up."
He laughed and began to massage my feet while I sipped on my vanilla shake.
Just when it was getting good, the doorbell rang, interrupting us. "You wanna get that? Might be the take out we ordered."He said as soon as his phone started to ring. He picked it up from the living room table and walked away with it after answering.
I huffed and got up to get the door. I slid on my socks and went over to it.
"Who is it?"I asked.
I got no reply. Maybe the person on the other end didn't hear me. I peeked through the blinds of the window that was located five feet away from the door. There was a lady standing on the other side. I opened the door.
"Hello. Are you the takeout lady?"I asked.
"Take out lady? No. Where's Offset?"
"In the back."
"I'm Kody's mother."
"Ohhh, okay. Kody is his son. Yeah, I got you girl."I nodded. "You wanted to come in?"
"Nah, I was just making sure I had the right address for when I drop Kody off this weekend."
"We just moved out here."
"Same, Offset just moved me out here too so he wouldn't leave Kody behind."
"That was sweet of him."
"Yeah. I'll be going though, I'll be back Friday. But let me get your number since you're going to be around Kody a lot."
I gave her my phone number. "I'll keep in touch."She told me before walking back down the drive way to her car.
"Who was that?"Ki asked, hanging up his phone. "Kody's mother."I answered.
"You didn't tell me you moved them out here?"I stated. "She seems pretty chill."
"Yeah, they're all like that. The other two should be popping up soon. If you don't mind, I moved my baby girl in the same neighborhood as us considering that she's the youngest. They're in the front of the neighborhood though."He explained.
"Seriously, do you have any flaws?"I asked rhetorically.
"Not in the father and boyfriend departments."
We laughed and kissed each other.
"Who was that on the phone?"I opened the refrigerator to see nothing in it.
"Takeoff calling me. He's drunk, I gotta go help him out."
"I thought you said y'all don't drink."
"I don't drink. They do."
He grabbed his keys and walked out, unknowingly leaving his phone.
"Hey!"I screamed, running after him.
"What?"
"You forgot your phone."
"Nah, I got it."He pulled his phone out of his pocket. "I got two phones. You can have that one though. Ion need it."
He got in his car and took off. He's just so perfect to me. God please, send me a sign before we get too deep into this...
I went back into the house and set up my new phone. It was an iPhone X.
"This is what he acts like since you're gone."Nicki spoke into the phone, videoing Jeremiah acting out.
In the video, he was knocking things over, kicking the wall, breaking his crayons and more. "Aye! Sit your ass down boy!"Some man yelled in the video. I knew that voice from a mile away. That's Ken, Nicki's ex.
Hm, wonder what he's doing over there...
I took a picture of myself and typed up the caption "I miss you Jeremiah" with a blue heart and pressed the send arrow. It sent and they opened it right away. Seconds later another video came through of Jeremiah. "I miss you too."He whined.
So I told him to stop acting a fool and be good for his mom and dad while I was gone. I didn't know my leaving would impact him this heavily.
A text came through to my new phone.
305-218-5067: hey! I need you to come get Kalea early. I'm going out with a few friends tonight
I didn't respond because maybe she thought the phone was still for Kiari.
Ki called me and I answered. There was a lot of yelling in the background.
"What you doing right now?"
"Nothing, just sitting here, waitin' on Toni."
"Can you go pick up my daughter for me? Ima send you the address."
"Okay."
I could do this. I wasn't doing anything better. I mean, I met Kody's mom, meeting Kalea's mom shouldn't be any different since Ki said they're all nice.
I got dressed and followed the directions to the front of the neighborhood.
"I'm Cardi,"I held out my hand to shake.
"I know who you are. Kiari's girlfriend."
I smiled and shook my head.
"You're here to pick up his daughter?"
"Yes."
"I didn't want to bother you, I thought he was going to come get her."
"No, it's fine. I wasn't doing anything anyway."
"You can come in, I'll go get her."
I sat down in the living room and waited for her. "By the way, my name is Adrianna. This is her overnight bag. Kalea!"She called.
Kalea emerged from the back of the house, dressed and ready to go.
"I guess I can trust you around my daughter. If you weren't down, Ki would've been sniffed it out."She laughed.
"Have her call me before she goes to bed."
She walked us out of the house and I snapped her into her car seat.
"Cardi!"Kalea mumbled. I didn't know she could talk, she looked pretty young at first glance.
"Cardi."She repeated.
"Yes?"
She just kept saying my name, nothing other than that. Oh my goodness, the baby fever...
What do y'all think about Kiari's kids and their mothers?
How do y'all feel about Ken coming back into Jeremiah's life?
