Samantha/Sam (Logan Browning)

Chapter 6:
I blinked the sun bright in my eyes, I patted my hand above my head for my phone. I found it I hit the power button and a picture of Cole and I appeared on the screen along with a notification of about a dozen phone calls. I quickly typed in my password looking at his messages that he sent me, they consisted of 'where are you?' 'why aren't you answering me?' and many other things along those lines.
I sat up looking at all the toys on the ground. I sat on the floor putting the Legos in the bin, and Carly's dolls in another. I placed miscellaneous toys in the final bin putting them all away, I wrote a note leaving it on the island. I slipped on my shoes heading to my car. I inserted my key into the engine and turned as the car rumbled alive. I backed out of her driveway, and into the street I headed for the highway, trying to get home as fast as I could, wanting to break the news to Cole.

I unlocked the door and walked in the house a mess. I felt the need to nest, but my tiredness too strong I walked to the bedroom to see Cole asleep his arms in my spot as if he were cuddling me. I walked into our master closet and changed into pajamas, even though it was seven thirty in the morning. I peeled the covers back from the bed and laid beside him lifting his arm so I can cuddle him letting him know I'm home. I rubbed my bloated stomach as I fell asleep thinking about our future.

I rubbed my eyes, I woke up nausea hitting me right away. I jolted out of bed and into our bathroom throwing up anything that was in my stomach. "Hey are you ok?" Cole asked. I placed my head in the toilet as he held my hair into a ponytail.
"Yea I'm fine it's just a side effect" I replied standing up wiping my mouth with a face cloth.
"A side effect? A side effect of what?" Cole's eyebrows raised up as he rubbed my back.
"Ohh um Cole, babe I have to talk to you."
"What is there something wrong," Cole asked with a concerned look on his face.
"Well you know how we were having that huge fight on how you didn't want any ki..."
"Astrid, I thought we were done with this conversation don't start bringing this back up now."
"I know but after we 'made up' something happen... well  what I am trying to say is that... I'm..." I started to say, before being interrupted.
"I know what this is about you don't know if you don't want to not have kids."
"What? No, that isn't what I wanted to say is, well what the doctor told me is that I am well, I am pregnant and my nausea is because of me being pregnant, I know this is a lot to take in so..."

He walks out of the room grabbing a jacket before slamming the front door before I could finish. I grabbed a couch pillow and squeezed it with all my might. I knew he would overreact but not like this, not like this at all. I blinked letting the tears fall, knowing and hoping he'd be home soon. 'He probably went out to get some food or hang out with friends, he'll be back by tonight' I thought trying to calm myself.  I got up wiping my eyes. I called my best friend, Sam. The phone rang twice before she picked up...
Sam: H-hey
Astrid: Oh sorry did I wake you?
Sam: Yes, this better be good.
Astrid:Can you meet at Annies?"
Sam: Ugh fine, see you around three.
She hung up, I was still crying. 'Dang these pregnancy hormones, I'm not even that sad he left' I thought. I picked myself up off the couch turning on my bluetooth speaker determined to satisfy my craving to nest a little bit before I leave. I connected Pandora to the speaker letting the music fill the house.
I had cleaned to my heart's desire. I looked at the clock on top of the stove seeing that it was already two thirty. I placed the cleaning supplies under the sink and stepped back into the master bedroom. I picked up all the dirty clothes off the floor and placed them into the hamper where they were suppose to be. I'm sorry I couldn't help myself but to pick up this messy room just a teeny weeny bit.
I walked into the bathroom and took a quick shower knowing I smell of Pine Sol and Windex. I stepped out of the glass shower opening the door to let some of the hot steam escape the enclosed space. I brushed through my hair, I'd normally straighten or curl it, but I'm just not in the mood. I walked into our master closet finding clothes to throw on, consisting of an oversized camo hoodie with black leggings. I grabbed a purse off a hook and filled it with my wallet, car keys, sunglasses, and phone. I wrote a note saying I was 'off at Annies with Sam' before I left.

I locked the car and walked into the family friendly environment of Annies. I ordered a hot chocolate taking a seat in a small booth by the window. I pulled my phone out of my pocket looking at the time, my phone read three fifteen. I sighed knowing she wouldn't be here until at least three thirty, and then would complain about my attire. I typed in the four digit code that secured my phone, I went into Sandbox trying to waste time.
I looked up from my phone to take a sip of Hot Cocoa, finding Sam by the front entrance. Of course she was totally glammed out, why wouldn't she be. She had a full face of makeup covering her ebony toned skin. Her eyes covered by sunglasses bought from who knows where and costs who knows what. Her outfit not simple and slacky like mine but tight and showed off her perfect curves. A lace jumpsuit showing off her shoulders, as soon as she sees me she knows I'm going to scold her about. Her hair long, black, and wavy. Any girl would be jealous. I can tell she has decided to wear it semi-natural, so most likely she just set it on wavers for a couple hours.
Unfortunately she always dresses like this way because she's single and I quote, "I don't know where or when I'm going to meet someone so I always need to look at my best" and then after her ramble she flutters her eyelashes showing off her obvious falseys.
I tried to wave her down but instead she ended up in the line to buy herself a coffee. She soon bought whatever sounded good to her from what seems like a never ending menu, she walks to the small booth I had occupied for us.
"Hey Sam, how have you been," I said trying to make small talk with her before I dropped the bomb, let that cat out of the bag, it's all the same to me.
"Helloooo" she said her voice dropping when she looked at me. "What the hell happen to you? You look terrible was it Cole? Did he do something? Sit. Tell." she replied back even though A. I was already sitting and B. I didn't look that bad.
"Oh well Cole did do something, but not anything to hurt me that's for sure."
"Well that is good now why are you dressed like some kind of bum."
"First I don't look like a bum I am just wearing some of my old lazy clothes that I have right to you know, wear instead of hiding them in the deepest darkest part of my closet. And also I can dress like this if I want to you so shouldn't be so Judgy and second..." I say  with a couple giggles in between before I  get interrupted.
"Ok, ok I am sorry from the way you are acting you sound like your... your not... wait are you pregnant! You are aren't you" She broke out into a huge smile already congratulating me.
"Y-yeah I am," I said with a nervous smile on my face
"Oh come on, I can't find a man to even settle down with, but you have no problem finding one to get you pregnant don't you," she teases.
"Well I'm sorry who knew a fight and a champine night would do this to me," I grabbed my Hot Chocolate again after pointing down at my semi-flat stomach.
"Like everyone in the entire world who has common sense I guess," she says sipping her coffee adding in a wink.
Hey, well let me know what you think and if I need to fix something. I would also love to know who you guess like the best.
