Chapter 10: Giana's (EDITED)

Chapter 10:
I ran around the kitchen frantically waiting for my ride. It's not like I don't have a car. Just Jay and Sam have decided to take me to my first official doctors appointment.
"What the hell has gotten into you?" Cole asked swishing down a cracker with beer. I ignored him and walked outside.
Yes, I know how cliche of me. I could give the I'm pregnant card but that doesn't fit perfectly into the situation. Cole and I are on a very, very, very minimum talking bases. I don't have a lot to say I got it all out the other day. I'm just irritated, because he knows I don't believe in abortions but yet it's like he's suggesting the idea. He is being so immature and foolish because he can't grow up and accept and come to terms with reality.
I look up from picking my nails to see Jay pulling into the driveway. Sam is in the back seat her acrylic nails hanging out the window. I open the door and hop in. "What took you guys so long? Were going to be late now" I said buckling my seat belt as Jay backed out of the driveway onto the street. Sam shrugged and Jessie just continues to drive down the road towards the doctors office.
"Well fine don't answer my question then" I said pretending to be mad.
"Ooo, you made the pregnant lady mad, you better fix it" Sam said placing her head in between the seats to be up by us. I giggle before slugging him in the arm once we reach a stop light.
"Ow, that hurt" Jay said finally responding.
"There was a slug bug" I said pointing behind us, "Didn't you see it Sam?"
"Ohh yeah it was all red and stuff" she winked multiple times to get the effect before smirking that same old smirk of hers.

I sign the last piece of paper work before turning it into the lady at the front. I sit in the ugly patterned chairs and waited for my turn. "Astrid Black" the nurse called behind me I stood up and so did the "gang" behind me. I step on the scale. "Wow" I thought, "six pounds heavier" The nurse took my blood pressure and marked down some stuff on the chart before walking away.
"She's finally gone" Jay says before picking up a purple glove and making it into a balloon.
"Oh my god Jay stop it" I whisper yell. I tried to hold in my giggles and failed as he continued to do as he wanted. The Dr. Phillips knocked on the door before she walked in. Jessie blowing up another glove balloon. Her eyes meet him daring him to continue. He pulled the glove away from his face letting the air escape with a big woosh. All of our faces blushed with embarrassment.
"Will you lay down?" she asked washing her hands. I did as she said raising my shirt. She pressed her cold hand onto my tiny bump.
"Have you talked to Cole yet?" Dr.Phillips gestured for me to sit up. She went to the desk and grabbed the measuring tape out. I stood as she measured me around.
"Your still really small around, you haven't gained much in centimeters or inches but that's ok. Your an extra three centimeters around, in case you were wondering."
"Well I told him and there is a whole bunch of B.S. going around the house right now. It's a long story and I'm not ready to go into it yet." I said plopping my butt back on the table.
"Alright I respect that. So it's about time you get your first official ultrasound, now the machine I used before is old and outdated and we don't have the money to buy a new one so. We have decided to partner with a ultrasounding clinic. I'll give you their card so you can set you an appointment next time, but you have an appointment tomorrow at eight thirty. I need the pictures right away to see what the baby looks like. But for today we are going to have to take a blood test, so I'll have you walk down to lab and x-ray. Then you'll be free to go" I nodded as she finished her ramble.
I've known and had this doctor for forever and she knows me and my family. One thing about her is she is caring and takes her time but then again she tries to keep things going and moving so things can get done. She is a really nice person.
We left the room and walked down to lab and x-ray. We waited until I was called back, once I was we all walked back into the smaller sized area. I took a seat in the old rickety chair. The nurse pulled the arm strap over the chair making me feel as if I was in a highchair. She grabbed the materials before she started, I do blood donations so this isn't a big deal to me. She pulls on a pair of fresh gloves and wraps the plastic band around my forearm. I watch as she finds my vien, once she has she takes the lid off the needle and pierces my skin as I close my eyes and wince in pain. I get a bandaid when she's done before we leave.

Jessie sits in the driver's seat determining where to go for ice cream. He decided on 'Gina's' a small cafe that is very rarely busy. Fortunately today it wasn't.
In high school this was our hang out, everyday after school we would meet up here and talk, get into some trouble, and gossip because what else do teens do. This is where I met Cole, and where he proposed to me. This small shop has so many memories and more to come, and you best believe that when I here ice cream I'm down, but today I didn't want a reminder that Cole was at home with a terrible hangover trying to forget about our baby.
I know he doesn't want kids but we have one growing inside me, and it's not like were not ready. We have the money, house, space, and love, well at least I have all of those things.
Jessie parked the car taking the key out of the ignition. "I'm getting some ice cream" sang Jessie as if he was a five year old. I forced a fake laugh just trying not to show my true emotions. "What's the matter?" Sam asked slapping her hand on my shoulder, "Were getting ice cream, you love ice cream" I straightened up my smile some more trying to show my excitement. Even though I did not, I mean did NOT want to go inside. I took a deep breath in and put my big girl panties on.
I stepped out of the car thinking of what Ash said to me, "Congratulations it's time to grow the hell up"
I walked to the entrance, Jay and Sam following me. Jay pulled the door open being the gentleman he is let me inside, but closed the door quickly so Sam couldn't. I know it seems rude but I've known them since Elementary School and they've had a love hate relationship since the beginning. They're like sibling always bickering and then there is one second of love and something sweet, but then it's always sour again.
Sam opened the door herself before slapping Jessie in the arm, making him yell in pain. I look around memories flooding back stronger than before.
I looked around to see that the walls were a new light creme color instead of a pastel bubblegum pink. The floors were wooden instead of tile, and the counter was now a false marble.I walked up to the counter looking up at the menu, browsing options.

I tok the last bite of my ice cream looking up from my bowl to see Jessie's ice cream barely touched.
"What's the matter Jay" I asked licking my plastic spoon clear.
"Huh?" Jay was obviously startled from whatever thoughts were taking over his brain.
"What's the matter of brain" Sam cut in
"Oh, uh nothing"
Being his best friends of all time we already knew something was wrong. Shoot if anyone new Jay they'd now how much he loves ice cream, and by taking one look at his bowl they'd have a lot of suspicions. But by the look on his face I didn't want to bother him. His big hazel eyes filled with a mixture of anger and sadness. I'm the person to not push your buttons and to leave you alone when you or your body language says so. But if I know Sam as soon as they drop me off she is going to get into his face about and may end in an argument that I'll have to resolve.
I stood up to throw my bowl away but instead this little muffin wants to do a happy dance on my bladder. I quickly throw my bowl away and excuse myself to the bathroom. I walk back out to see Sam and Jessie waiting for me. We walked out the door and found our car parked on the side of the busy road. I sat down and buckled my seat belt with a click, the next two of theirs following. We drove down the road, the car silent just the sound of the car radio.
