Chapter 3:

I woke up early like I had for the passed few days, and ran to the bathroom puked brushed my teeth put on some comfy clothes and drove to the doctor's office. When I arrived I had realized my appointment wasn't until twelve thirty the doctor's office wasn't even open yet. So I went to the mall to pass time good thing that was open I grabbed Starbucks and cinnamon rolls then went to some different stores and by the time I knew it was already twelve twenty.
When I arrived five minutes early I filled out the form then got checked by the nurse. I sat down and started browsing through a magazine, before I knew it I heard my name and was walking back to a room. The nurse then left me to put on one of the gowns and finally the doctor walked in.
"Hello Astrid how are you doin'?"
"Well I've been having stomach cramps and been throwing up at least four times a day ohh and I'm late about thirteen days"
"Well that's not good, when did this start?"
"Just over two weeks ago"
"Can you lie down on your back for me?"
I did as she said. She pressed her cold hands on my slightly bloated stomach. She pressed around as she kept humming a catchy toon that must've been stuck in her head.
"Well it's definitely not a stomach bug, it could be more serious things as an appendix or even cancer but we won't know for sure until we do more tests so don't be alarmed I know it's scary but it could also be a menstrual malfunction, go ahead and change and Tiffany will show you back to the waiting room."
Once she left the nurse came and guided me to the waiting room when I saw Ash in the pediatrics area. I walked out to say hi, but unfortunately they got called back before I could get to them.
When I went to the lab the nurse looked at the screen scribbled on her note book then repeated. Once I finished I went back to the waiting room and saw Kaden grabbing a sticker. He saw me before I could get close but we hugged and read a quick book before they had to leave. I texted Cole but he didn't respond.
The nurse called me back into a dark room with the doctor already waiting. I sat as she pulled up my file on the computer and edited it. It was silent except for the click and clack of the keys on the keyboard. After another minute or two of silence she finally spoke.
"Good news you are perfectly fine."
"Well that is a relief." I say cheerfully
"Yes it is but..."
"But?"
"Well there was an abnormal amount of hormones so we are going to do a ultrasound on your uterus and if you are pregnant this machine isn't clear and it's old so it's not a one hundred percent answer"
"How long will it take?"
"Half an hour at the least, but I do recommend this, it is kind of is necessary."
I sighed and took the gown off the table a little frustrated, because I'd rather set another appointment and have Cole come with me. Dr. Phillips stepped out of the room and I easily slipped off my coat. Following my high waisted black jeans, dark grey sweatshirt, converse, and beanie.
I hopped back up on the table and waited a few minutes. Dr. Phillips knocked on the door. "Can I come in?" she asked. I look up as she walks in anyway."Alright let's just get started." she said putting on a fresh pair of gloves. "Well how is Cole, this gel is going to be cold"
"He's good, concerned though" I replied wincing as she rubbed the gel over my lower stomach.
"Well that's good..." she paused and looked over at the screen. She pressed the miscellaneous object down into my stomach more to get a closer look.
"Ok" she said while snapping a picture, "well from the looks of it you, may be pregnant!"
"What, this can't be."
"Well it is and don't worry about it you should be happy."
"Don't worry about it DON'T WORRY ABOUT it this is crazy how did this even..."
"Well when was the last time you were intimate?"
"It was the day before I had called in..."
"Ok so it is possible, I know it's a lot to take in so just go home tell Cole talk about then come in and have a conference with me. For now I'm going to prescribe you some prenatal vitamins. But there may also be a chance I am mistaken take a pregnancy test before you call back that will confirm everything. Go ahead and change than head out, here are your papers" she said while grabbing them out of the printer.
I got dress again and left the doctor's office in total shock. I put the car in reverse and drove out of the parking lot. I hit the highway trying to get there as soon as possible. I turned down I-21 and started crying. 'I'm pregnant, I'm really pregnant' I thought my eyes flooding with tears.
