Chapter 10 - Back to Normal

    It's been more than a week since we said our goodbyes to her. Thought we should try and back to normal,well we tried with me being sad and lonely again but with Lee this time too. We both laid on his couch watching Can't But Me Love you know the one with the nerdy guy lending money to the popular girl so she can help him climb the social chain. We both laughed about how cheesy 80's movies were but how great they were at the same time. Even though we complained about them we still watched all the John Hughes movies.It was our thing to do on crappy days like these.

Once our movie was over we decided on finally go to our first senior year party. Yeah I know it's the middle of October and we're just finally going to one. Sad. It took us about 10 minutes of us trying to convince each other we should go.

Lee got changed into some dark grey board shorts and a blue button up shirt, paired with white converse. Lee ran down the stairs and we hopped in his car and took me home to quickly get changed and do something with my hair. He sat at the edge on my bed saying yes or no to dresses I tried on. They were either to short, to tight or just looked like sacks.

"Shelley I can't let you go out in that outfit it's too short, I can almost see your butt cheeks. For sure someone will take a picture of you in that and Noah will see it. He'll yell at both of us 1. For me letting you out like that. 2.for you being the Center of attention with our whole grade, you know all the guys with come running now that Noah isn't here." He gave me his stern face like I don't want to get my ass kicked tonight.

"Okay I won't wear this one, plus your right I don't want to hear mr.overprotective freak out at me over the phone. I'll just put my navy blue dress, you know the one I wore to your party last year." He's right I really didn't need to be the Center of attention again, I've had enough of that already.

Fixed my hair and put a bit of makeup on and we were out. Lee and I promised to have only one drink that night.

The party was at Tuppens house a couple blocks from Lees so we walked just in case we drank more then the one drink. As we got closer to the house you could hear the base from the music. People were all over the front yard, red cups in there hands half of them already looked out of it.

Lee and I walked to the back to find the table of drinks, he handed me a beer and took one for himself.
"Just the one drink Shelley, I don't want a recurrence of last years party. Please." He was pretty much begging me not to get out of hand again which I totally understand.
"Yes lee I understand, I won't go crazy I cross my heart." I lifted my hand to my heart with a huge smile on my face.

Will Elle drink to much again?
