Chapter 12- aftermath

I was so angry at Lee but even more mad at myself for losing him at the party. We promised each other that week had each other's backs of anything happened. I obviously did a bad job on my part.

I was walking so fast back to Lees that I was practically running with anger. I could hear Lee trying to keep up with me. I sobered up 100% by now, well with all my yelling at him. I needed some advice or just someone sober to talk to, I call Noah.

"Noah!"

"Shelly is everything ok, it's really late! Did someone do something to you?" He sounded so worried, I forgot about the time difference.

"I'm fine, we're fine. Actually Lees not, I just caught him making out with Mia at this party we just went to. I'm so angry with him. Has he said anything to you about Rachel or anything about how he's feeling with long distance relationship?" I start to relax a bit but start to regret bugging Noah so late.

"Umm what?" He clears his throat

"Never mind right now. I forgot how late it was for you. We all all good, we're just going back to your house. I'll call you in the morning to explain more. Go back to sleep love you." I say it so fast that I'm actually out of breath. I feel so bad, he's doesn't need our drama while he's at school.

"Ok you sure Elle?"

"Yea I'm good, we're good. Love you!"

"Love you too!"

I hang up the phone put it back in my pocket.

I stop abruptly and turn to look Lee in the face.
"How could? Rachel hasn't even been gone a whole month and your already cheating on her. I don't understand where this is coming from? Your not a "player."  I put my fingers up to do air quotes so he understands that this isn't who he is. "Are you trying to be the new badass Flynn like Noah used to? I don't understand Lee." I can feel the heat in my body rise as I say every word to him.

Oh poor Rachel, maybe they should have just stayed broken up. I turn and start walking now at a slower pace so he can keep up with me. I normally can tell what he's thinking but this time I got nothing.

"Shelly stop with all the yelling!" He slurring his words now, he must have had way more then me. Lee wasted which doesn't happen, it's always the other way around. "Let m-meeee explain to youuuuu." He caught up to me now and is waving a finger at me. "When you were talking to Tuppen about Noah, I decided to call Rachel and tell her that I'm at a party with you. I wanted to hear her voice to. Her phone was ringing and she didn't answer the phone it was some guy on the other line. I thought I might have called the number so I hung up and called again, I was wrong. I've never heard this voice before and asked if I could talk to her. He told me she was in the shower. Shes cheating on me Shelly." Tears start to stream down his face and a loud sob comes out. "I wanted to get back at her, I had a couple shots of vodka and Mia was right there." He falls to his knees just at the drive way to his house. Lee puts his hands on his has to hide that he's crying.

I stop and run back to lee to comfort him. Now I feel kind of bad for yelling at him before knowing the whole story. I jumped at the thought of this possibly happening to me and my relationship with Noah.

"Lee everything will be okay. Call her tomorrow morning, not now. Let's hope you get the truth from her about who was on the phone. But for now Lee we have to get you to bed." I slowly try and pick him up off the ground, it's a bit of a struggle he's not light. This is a first me taking care of Lee and not the other way around.

Finally making it in the house without making any noise or waking his parents up. Lees saying a bunch of stuff but none of it is making sense or sounding English. I close the door to his room turn around and he's getting naked, well boxers still on, thank god. I help him in bed put the covers on and kiss him on the cheek.

"Lee if you need anything I'll be in Noah's room." I really couldn't stay in the same room with him, he smelled like vodka. The smell just brings back bad memories.

I get some incoherent sound from lee but before I could turn to leave he was already passed out snoring. I closed the door and headed down the hall to Noah's room. His room still smells like him, like home. My dress smelled of beer so I took it off and looked through Noah's drawers. He left some clothes behind for when he came home, which hasn't happened  yet. I pull out a grey tshirt and his plum coloured shorts. Mmm they still smell of him as I pull the tee to my nose. Plug my phone in and hope right into bed. Thank god this night is over so much has happened that I kind of hope I just dreamt it all for the sake of lee. 

Will lee tell Rachel about his kiss with Mia??
