Ever since she was little, (Y/N) knew that she wasn't like other girls.

With her father holding the position of a top-level agent for the organization S.H.I.E.L.D, her childhood was far from that of a typical girl's.

Her family would move houses constantly as a safety precaution, and more often than not these moves would be across different states, forcing (Y/N) to leave behind the friends she had made and the smidgen of a life she had become accustomed to, only to repeat the process all over again in a few months time.

Understandably, (Y/N) had learned not to get too attached to people and places, and so would distance herself from those her age as much as possible. She spent most of her time in her parents' company, and the three of them had a bond that was unbreakable.

But after having finally settled down in a nice house in Chestertown, Maryland when (Y/N) turned sixteen - and after finally building a normal life - a horrific chain of events unfold that severe the connection between (Y/N) and her parents forever.

Suddenly, (Y/N) is plunged into the messy, dangerous and surreal world of her father's work, as S.H.I.E.L.D takes her under its wing, spearheaded by her godfather and her father's best friend - Director Nick Fury - who assigns her a personal bodyguard to ensure her safety.

While under the ward of S.H.I.E.L.D, (Y/N) begins to suspect that there are some things that the organization are not telling her; things that have had - and could futuristically have - an impact on her life.

As (Y/N) delves deeper into the foreign territory, she learns things that break her heart, fill her with rage, and above all else, show her just how much unlike other girls she really is.
