As they were escaping, Sonic, Hunter, Sparx, Spyro and Cynder walked up to a group of platforms. Sonic looked down. There was darkness below the platforms. "Phew! I wouldn't like to see what was in there." Said Sonic. Hunter sensed something. "It's getting closer!" warned Hunter. He quckly jumped and dashed on the platforms to get to the other side. Sonic looked at Hunter, sarcastically. "Ha! Is that the best you can do? Watch this!" said Sonic. The hedgehog took a few steps back and ran and jumped into the air. In three seconds, he was at the other side. "Hunter looked at Sonic, astonised. "Impressive! How did you do that?" he asked. Sonic shrugged. "I was born with it." Sonic answered. Then Spyro and Cynder were about to cross to the other side when the giant creature attacked again. His hand nearly crushed Hunter and Sonic, but they escaped. "I hope they're not killed." Said Hunter. "Let's not hope. Let's just see!" replied Sonic. The duo went to a the remains of a building. They entered to see Spyro and Cynder still alive. "Hunter, give us a moment to gather our strength." Said Spyro "You two might wanna stand back, this could get weird." Warned Sparx. "It's fascinating." Replied Hunter. "How your kind draws strength from these crystals. Dragons are truly remarkable." "Yeah, you can say that now, til one tries to kill you and by one, I mean her." Said Sparx, pointing at Cynder. Sonic saw Cynder glare angrily at the dragonfly. Sonic was confused. "What did she do? Maybe I should talk about it with Hunter in private." He thought. "I am aware of Cynder's past." Reminded Hunter. "But Ignitus trusts her and that's good enough for me." Spyro and Cynder touched the green crytal which then shattered and gave out a bright light. "What is this? Some kind of special effects light show?" shouted Sonic, annoyed. Soon, everything was back to normal. Immediately, the ugly creatures jumped out of the ground and attacked the group. "Grublins! Don't let them surround you." Shouted Hunter. "Alright! Time for round two!" said Sonic. Sonic used his Sonic Tornado attack to blow the grublins away. Spyro flew up into the air and grabbed one of the grublins that went flying out of the tornado and swung him round. He threw the grublin onto the ground and used his fiery comet attack on the grublin, killing it. Cynder used her fear breath on some of the grublins. The grublins ran away from her as fast as they could. Soon, the rublins retreated. The group went through a passage. As soon as they entered, Hunter pointed out that the escape route was above some platforms. Sonic looked up. "Wow! That's high. I'll be up there in ten seconds." Quickly, the hedgehog ran up the wall and jumped on two platforms and was at the top. "See, I told you I'd be up there in ten seconds." Called Sonic. Cynder smiled at him, sarcastically. "Does that guy have to be such a show-off?" asked Cynder. "I heard that!" shouted Sonic. Then Hunter, Sparx and the two dragons reached the top. Spyro put down a lamp that he was carrying, on a locking device that unlocked the door. The door opened to reveal another room. "Where's the exit?" asked Sonic. "There a light up there. We must be getting close." Said Spyro. "Here, this way! This leads to the surface." Said Hunter as he llead the group to the light. But as Sonic was about to follow, he spotted a tail swinging past. "Guys, stop!" shouted Sonic. "We can't! The grublins could be following us right this second." Warned Spyro. "But I saw something." Said Sonic. Spyro and Cynder wondered what Sonic was on about when they saw the tail as well. "We have to keep moving." Said Spyro. Spyro, Cynder and Sonic quickly followd Hunter. But as they were nearly heading towards the surface, the golem appeared again. Sonic decided to finish the creature once and for all. "I'm gonna take him out!" said Sonic. The hedgehog used his homing attack at the creature. "Sonic, watch out!" shouted Spyro. But it was too late, the golem's fist hit Sonic like a brick wall. Sonic fell on the ground, lying motionless.
