After journeying for two days, the group arrived at Warfang, the city of dragons. Knuckles saw Silver and Blaze below walking through the city. "Silver. Blaze. Over here." Called Knuckles. "Have you found Sonic yet?" asked Silver. Knuckles was sorrowful and led Hunter and the dragons to where Silver and Blaze were. There they laid Sonic's body on the ground. Silver was hung his head in sorrow. Blaze turned away with a tear in her eye. "Who did this?" Asked Silver, angrily. "Your friend Shadow has been corrupted by Malefor to destroy Spyro. Sonic gave his life to save him." Answered Hunter. "He'll pay for this." Growled Silver. "Silver, don't. That's not what Sonic would want." Said Blaze. Suddenly, an explosion was heard. "Quickly, we have to move." Said Hunter. Hunter, Spyro and Cynder went to find the dragon elders. "We have to put Sonic in a safe place." Said Knuckles "Let's go." As Knuckles, Silver and Blaze carried Sonic's body, they heard battle cries and giant fiery balls flying across the sky. "It looks like we're in the middle of a war." Said Blaze. "We'll hide in here." Said Knuckles, pointing at a hallway. The trio rushed through the hallway when more grublins arrived. "Silver. Blaze. Distract those freaks!" Silver and Blaze attacked the grublins while Knuckles put Sonic in a armoury room. Knuckles punched and kicked every grublin in his way. A group of grublins holding spears were ready to kill Blaze. She smiled wickedly. "Can you take the heat?" she mocked. With that Blaze's hand flared with fire and shot the fire at the grublins. The grublins cried in pain. "IT BURNS!" one of them screamed. With his telekinetic powers, Silver made a grublin's head explode, caused some grublins to kill themselves and some even went mentally insane and tore each other apart. After their short battle, Knuckles, Silver and Blaze went into the armoury room where Sonic's body laid. "We're going to need some tools to help protect the city" said Blaze. Silver spotted a set of armour that was just right for the three of them. Knuckles picked up a pair of swords that had huge blades with a fiery pattern designed into them, along with a crimson-bronze armour. "I am having these." Said Knuckles, smiling. Silver saw some shiny silver armour with some gold strips along with a pair of curved air katana swords. As for Blaze, she found some vague armour with a sword with a red crystal embedded on the base of the blade. The three of them put their new armour on themselves.
Once they were ready, Blaze turned to Knuckles and asked "What's the plan, Knuckles?" "We'll leave Sonic here where he can be safe. Once we get rid of the grublins, we collect Sonic and take him to the dragons, they'll find a way to bring Sonic back to life." Said Knuckles. "What are we waiting for? Let's kick some grublin ass." Said Silver. The trio went off to help Spyro and Cynder, not noticing Shadow standing on top of the city wall. "Malefor, my master. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Sonic's friends are going to ressurrect that bloody blue hedgehog. Malefor appeared. "Make sure that they don't succeed. Let me take care of the purple dragon." Commanded Malefor. "Go, my apprentice." Shadow went after the trio.
Knuckles, Blaze and Silver attacked the grublins that went in his way. Blaze spotted Spyro and Cynder. "I found them." Shouted Blaze. "Go help them! We'll catch up!" shouted Knuckles. Blaze was about to follow Spyro and Cynder, when a little light was appeared on her head. Silver saw it. He ran to Blaze and pushed her out of the way when a gunshot was heard. Blaze got up to see Silver shot at his arm. Blood was seeping out of the wound. "Silver!" shouted Blaze. Then, Blaze turned to see Shadow reloading his gun. "I won't let you ressurrect that blue son of a bitch." Shouted Shadow, smiling wickedly. "Shadow, why are you doing this?" shouted Blaze, angrily. "Think about what you're doing?" "Oh, but I am. I am going to kill you, the dragons and anyone else who rebels against my master Malefor." Answered Shadow. Without hesitation, Shadow landed on the ground and fought against Blaze. Shadow used his Chaos Spear at Blaze. Blaze jumped in the air and shot a fireball at Shadow. Shadow drew out the Sword of Warfang and unleashed an snow storm at Blaze. Blaze used the heat from her body to protect herself. When the storm cleared, Blaze kicked Shadow in the stomach and grabbed one of his pistols. Shadow got up while Blaze aimed the gun at Shadow. "Give up?" asked Blaze. "Nice try, kitty. But you only have one gun, while I have two." The dark hedgehog smirked. Shadow aimed the guns at Blaze. "Say goodbye." An earth missile hit Shadow. It came from Spyro. Shadow got up. "Well, well, well. If it isn't the purple dragon. I almost had you last time when that damn blue hedgehog got in the way. You have no one to blame but yourself." Scoffed Shadow. "That wasn't his fault." Hissed Cynder "By declaring your alleigance to that giant purple scumbag, you killed Sonic." "You dare mock my master?" shouted Shadow, angrily. "I'LL CRUSH YOU!!!" "Bring it!" shouted Cynder. Shadow and Cynder charged at each other. Cynder head-butted Shadow in the stomach. Shadow flew into a wall and crashed. He quickly got up and Cynder by the throat, before she scratched his chest. Shadow screamed in agony. The dark hedgehog swung Cynder off his arm and punched her. Cynder roared as she darted at Shadow and tail-swiped him in the face. Shadow tried to shoot the black dragoness. Cynder dodged the bullets and pushed Shadow when the Chaos Emeralds flew off Shadow. "Knuckles, the Emeralds!" Blaze shouted. Knuckles turned round and saw the Emeralds. He had an idea. Knuckles grabbed the Emeralds and ran. Shadow threw Cynder off him and saw Knuckles running away. "Not on your life." Said Shadow, as he began to chase the Echidna. Spyro and Cynder followed Shadow. "I won't let you bring back Sonic!" shouted Shadow. "We won't let you harm anyone else, Shadow!" souted Spyro. Spyro used his right front paw to punch him. Shadow then tackled the purple dragon to the ground. Shaow drew out the sword of Warfang, ready to kill Spyro when Cynder spun round like a tornado. Shadow felt the force of the tornado trying to suck him in. Shadow stuck the Sword into the ground, trying to hold on. But the force was so strong that Shadow lost his grip of the sword. "NOOOO!" Shadow screamed.
Knuckles went over to Sonic's body and placed the Chaos Emeralds around him. "Please, let this work." Said Knuckles. After he took a few steps back, the echidna shouted, "CHAOS CONTROL!" Soon the whole room shone with a bright light. Shadow sensed it. "No! It can't be!" Shadow shouted. The Sword of Warfang flew to a familiar figure. Silver, Blaze and the dragons were surprised. It was Sonic. "Whoohoo! The hedgehog is back in action!" cheered Sparx. Sonic raised his sword up high as the Chaos Emeralds shot rays at him. After that happened, Sonic was covered in purple and yellow metallic armour. "Alright, Shadow." Said Sonic. "Let's finish this!" "Gladly!" the dark hedgehog smirked.
