"I'm never getting used to this." I check my phone.

Mira: I'm running a bit late

Mira: I won't be able to come

Mira: sorry

Mira: I'll come tomorrow for sure

Mira: are you that mad that you won't reply

Mira: I'm sorry

Arin: ok, sheesh. I was busy

Mira: At home?

Arin: yeah, something came up

Mira: Oh

Arin: you can come over tomorrow, no problem.

Mira: Thank you, I gtg school

Arin: k bye

'by the way, I won't be able to talk to you at school much because they'll suspect something, so just act normal. And try not to have mental conversations because the mind-reading vampires can detect and listen in'

I took a breath 'you scared me there, but ok'

No reply. Well, that's the end of it. I checked the time. 2:57. 2:57! I rush downstairs, refill Dart's bowl, and hurry up to change. I quickly changed into my uniform. I check the time. Now it was 3:15 I sigh. I had almost lost my uniform!

Dart was curled up on the couch, sleeping. I sigh. "Dart, you know you're not supposed to sleep there." He doesn't reply. I pick him up and place him on the bed. I straighten the living room, fixing the couches and setting the pillows right. Then I straighten the two guest rooms, and finally I set foot into the master bedroom.

It was exactly as my parents left it, the bed messed up and the closets empty. I straighten the bed and clean the dusty closets. I should inhabit this room. Maybe I'll move rooms. In case when guests come, there can be three guest rooms instead of two. Or maybe I'll have a paint room. I check the time. 3:30. Perfect.

I take all of my clothes and move them into the master bedroom. I still had an empty closet, but I decided to put old clothes in there. I take all of my shelves and objects and painfully lug them down the stairs and into the master bedroom. Finally, all was left was the bed. I left the bed in there. Now it was just a plain room with a bed. I took all my things in the bathroom and moved them to the master bedroom's bathroom.

I took a look at what I'd done. Now I have 3 extra rooms, 2 with beds, and then everything else in the master bedroom. I take my parent's safe that was in the garage. They'd emptied it before leaving, but I didn't care. I took the leftover money I had from yesterday that was in my purse and put it in the safe.

I checked the time. 3:47. "Oh frick." I grab my keys and get in my brother's car. If he left me the car, I'll go ahead and use it. I get nostalgic for a moment, thinking of how he should be sitting in this seat, before I get a hold of myself. Stop it. He's gone now.

I drive to the coffee shop, parking in the 'employee parking' section. I enter just in time. "You're almost late." "Almost"

I take the stool and sit down. It was slow for the first hour and half. One or two customers. You'd've thought we were going out of business. And then, around 5:30, more people started coming in. Scott started playing light music in the corner. It had a nice, cozy feel. I started working overtime, taking orders and calling out names. I got many tips, but I'm not sure why. I just kept a smile.

Then at 6:02, he and Nina, the girl who kicked me, walked in. He cut in line. "I'll take a coffee, please." I ignored him. "Thank you maam, here's your receipt." I bent my arm around Taehyung's and handed the lady who'd just ordered her receipt. She left the line. I looked up at Taehyung. "Excuse me sir, you're blocking the way." He shrugged and left the line. I took the next person's order. He smiled at me. "Wanna go out with me?" I ignored it. "Anything else sir?" "Yeah, a date." I kept on ignoring him. "Here's your receipt." He took it and left, but I could feel his gaze on me. He looked kind of familiar.

I kept taking orders, and then finally took Taehyung's order. Since it was only a coffee, it was easy to remember. "Kimi Tahyun!" I looked around. Taehyung came and angrily grabbed his coffee. "It's Kim Taehyung." I innocently shrug. "Sorry." He resumed his making out in the corner. I almost gag.

The line was empty for now, so the annoying guy from before came back. "Hey beautiful." "Can I help you?" "Yeah, as I said before, I'd like a date." "Not interested." "You sure, becau-"

"When a girl says she's not interested, she's not" I hear a voice. "Mira?" She smiled. "I didn't know you worked here."

"I joined yesterday." She looked around. "This place is amazing. It smells nice too." I snort. "Of course you'd notice the smell." Scott comes and silently pulls up another stool. She hops into it. "So I'd like a cupcake, please." I nod and hand her the receipt. "All yours." A few seconds later Matt comes out with a cupcake. They share a glance and he smiles at her. "Hi, what's your name?" "Mira, what's yours?" "Matt." I smile after he leaves. "I totally ship it." I squeal. She rolls her eyes, but then leans in. "You really think he likes me." "He just met you, give it time." She nods.

She looks over to the corner. "Oh my god is that-" I cut her off. "Yeah, that's Taehyung and Nina, they make out in the corner every day." I made a gagging gesture. She laughs. "I feel you"

We continued talking for a while, until the rush became bigger. Then I was taking order like crazy and Mira decided to help me by calling out the names. Finally, it was 7:30. "That was crazy. I think I just had a workout." We shared a glance and then laughed.

Nina came over to us. "May I help you maam?" She slapped me. "He broke up with me. It's all your fault." Everyone was staring at us. "I'm sorry maam, you seem to have the wrong idea. Would you like anything to eat?" She turns around and stomps off.

I go back to my stool. "Crazy ladies. They're everywhere." Nina and I continued talking, until the guy came back again. "So...where do you live?" I shook my head. "I said no." He didn't seem to hear. "Would you like me to take you on a date right now? There's no one in line."

"Would you like to order something sir?" He sighed. "I get when I'm not wanted, but can I have a goodbye kiss for now?" I didn't get to answer. "I'd like another coffee." It was Taehyung. I sighed in relief. "Yeah, sure" I rang him up and handed him the receipt. When it came out, I handed it to him. "Don't I have to pay for it?" I shook my head. "On the house today." He nodded. "Thanks"

I looked back, but the guy was gone. Scott came out. "Well, you did good today also. Here's your pay, plus the tips are yours." I take the $60 and the tips and stuffed them in my purse. "Let's go, Mira." She looks down. I was confused. "I'm waiting...for someone..." Then, Matt came out. A smile crept onto my face. "I'll be going then." She smiled and waved goodbye, and I did the same. I walked outside, taking in the fresh air. I walked home, but it felt as if I was being watched. I'm getting that feeling a lot nowadays.

I got in the car and started it. Once I got home, I walked inside, but then I realized I had forgot to water the roses. I left the door open and ran to get the watering can. I watered the roses and then walked inside. I was about to close the door, but then I was pushed against the wall. "You refused me. I tried being nice, but it apparently doesn't work. Well, let's do this the hard way." My eyes widened in fear. "HELP. SOMEONE HELP ME!" I screamed, but he just slapped me and kicked the door. It didn't fully close however.

He looked me in the eyes, and I realized his eyes were silver. "Vampire." I muttered. He smiled. "You're so stupid. Remember me?" I racked my brain, trying to remember when I invited him. "Let me jump start your memory: the door flap." I widened my eyes. "You're the one who installed the door flap." He nodded and smiled cruelly.

"You and I, we're going to have fun." I grabbed the nearest thing and hit him, trying to run away, but he grabs onto my hand. He harshly yanks me towards him. My eyes widen in fear as he smirks.

"You shouldn't've done that."
