Fritz fell on the floor, revealing his killer. It was my mother. She was standing there crying.
"He killed him.....he killed your father.... Then he lied to my face....." She started to mutter while tears started to fall.
"I know..... I know....." I replied.
She ran into my arms. I can't believe it. My mother came to my rescue.
Just as Sapal came in.
Bang. A gun shot. Where did it come from? Where did it strike? Then I looked at her....on the floor. My mother was dead. She died at the hands of my troops.
"Sir, she was wanted for treason!" said the soldier.
I fell on my knees. "Mom? Mom?! Please no!"
"Now you're wanted for murder in the first degree!" Sapal yelled at the soldier. "Men, handcuff him!"
"No," I said, "release him."
"Detrick, why?"
"No more. No more. The war is over. He was following orders, it was an accident. Please, no more."
They released him. Cantale was back.
