"(y/n)! Could you please take this bunch of sunflowers to the banner sellers? I am expecting a new seed delivery soom and can't make it myself."
Peering over a mountain of orchids that were already crowding your arms, you looked at your father with a worried expression.
"But father, I don't know any of them like you do. What if they don't realize who I am?"
Knowing your reluctance to talk to knew people, your father gave a comforting stare.
"Relax, I informed everyone beforehand that I would be having you deliver flowers to sell today. Besides, they are counting on these flowers for a profit."
                              "But-."
"Buts are for sitting. How about I make you a deal." He pulled out a few coins from his pocket and placed them in your parsel. "Today is the celebration of the princess' return. It's a day to enjoy yourself. How about when you finish delivering the flowers your buy some sweets from the candy shop you enjoy going too. Then you could go to the clearing by the river and feed the ducks without anyone bothering you."
The chance was too tempting to resist, ever since your brother went to train as a royal guard, he stopped keeping in touch and your dad has been protective ever since. So an outing by yourself was a rare chance.
Your dropped the flowers you were already holding and took off with the sunflowers. True to his words all the venders were waiting for you. Most simply gave their thanks and paid for the flowers but one of the older vendors gave you a little more than she needed to pay for.
"Oh I'm sorry, I think you gave me more than you needed to." The woman smiled at your. Her tired eyes gave a suprisingly cheerful glow.
"Oh no sweetie, I thought you could use that for youself. (y/n) right? Your father talks a lot about you, especially about your shyness. It's nice to see you out for a change."
You face turned red. How many people knew about your perpetual shyness. With a wave you left before you found out what else your father talked about. Soon the candy shop was in for sight and you gladly rushed in. Luckily your favorite sweets weren't sold out yet.
The return of the princess has brought a lot of tourists lately so the shop was hard to manueveur though but you prevailed. After buying a sack of sweets you slid away to a small clearing next to a river by the woods. You popped a piece of candy into your mouth and pulled a piece of bread from your parcel.
"Okay! Now I just have to wait for the ducks."
You were a pretty impatient person so the five minutes you waited felt like 5 hours but soon enough a momma duck with her ducklings came waddling by. You scraped a few pieces off the brittle bread and laid them across the grass. One of the smaller ducklings picked at a piece of bread.
Usually the rest of the group would follow and eat but the mother Duck took the duckling away and led them back to the pond. You realized that you were so focused on the ducks you didn't notice a loud a noise behind you.
Behind you was a loud clanking machine being dragged by a scrawny teen in giant goggles. He seemed to be struggling to pull the machine but you were a bit annoyed that he invaded your secret place. So you watched him in slight amuesment. Of course that was disrupted when one of the ducklings came back and started rummaging through your bag looking for more break. You tried to push it away but the mother duck got mad and ran to you. And to your surprise, she bit you.
"Hey OW!!!" You cradled your now injured arm.
The kid heard your yell and looked at you with suprise. He seemed more concerned that he never noticed you watching him than the fact a duck attacked you.
