The meeting must have went well because Varian and his dad came by often. You all fell into a schedule that you quickly got used to. Every Monday, Wednesday,  and Friday Quirin and Varian would visit the castle and if you were lucky, the meetings between the King and Quirin would go over the scheduled time and he and Varian would have to spend the night.  However, no one ever let you and Varian sit through the meetings. Not even Rapunzel was allowed to be in there most of the time. But eventually as you and Varian begun to talk more you stopped minding.
You and Varian are currently trying to draw a diagram of how the flower originally looked. You were an okay artist but the flower looked decent enough.  You took the care to make sure that petals were reaching up just as they were when you first saw it. Varian was impressed.
"That actually looks really similar too the original flower. We should be able to guess the internal structure and properties guessed in no time." He starter drawing numbers and letters around specific parts of the flowers."
                              "Hey, what are those?".
"Oh, these?" they are chemical symbols I created from diferent elements and substances I found and used."
"Why are they written  around the flower though."
"I'm taking notes so see if the flower's chemical makeup could match any of mine."
                              "Huh, neat."
                              "You really think so?"
"Yeah." You gave him a kindhearted smile and resting your chin on the table over your crossed arms; you examined each chemical symbol carefully. "I'm really impressed at how you can come up with all these chemical equations. I can do math and read fairly well but everyone in my old village never let me discuss anything like that. I usually keep any knowledge to myself."
Varian stared wide eyed at you for a few seconds before diverting his focus to the paper in front of him.
"Actually, nobody in Old Corona was ever really impressed with what I do. Even my dad is embarassed of me."
"I'm sure that's not true. He' just worried about you that's all. A lot of a parents are like that. At least you have someone to worry about you."
Varian remembered that you lived along until you came to the castle. "Hey (y/n), if you don't mind telling me, what happened to your parents that forced you to live alone for sucha long time?"
                              You were silent.
"I=I'M SORRYI shouldn't have asked that about your parents. I feel like a terrible person now. I am so sorry."
"No . . . it's fine. I just have no idea what happened to my parents. I just woke up one morning and they were gone .  .  ." You felt tears welling in your eyes but you wiped the off with the palm of your hand. "I'm sorry, you shouldn't need to see me cry."
Varian threw his arm around you assuringly. "Don't worry it's nothing to be ashamed about. I'm sorry to have brought it up." He felt awful now. He's used to you being bubbly or sarcastic at the least. But to his eyes you looked back up to him with a small smile.
"It's fine. Besides, I'm sure they are alive somewhere."
Varian gave a weak nod in return and decided to change the subject.
"You said you were a good reader right?"
You had no idea where he was trying to go with this. "Yeah why?"
                              "What about writing?"
"I'm fair at writing. Used to write written recommendations for the books at the bookshop that were harder to sell. Where are you going with this?"
"Weelllll, it would be a shame for a smart girl's talents to go to waste. And I am terrible at writng. And we'll need someone to document our findings so . . ."
"You still want me to be a big part of your research?"
"Of course! You are the reason we have this new chance in the first place."
"Oh, okay then. I guess I'll need to brush up a bit on alchemy.
                              <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
Ever since you agreed to let you write down the findings about the flower you have been devoting yourself to learning more about alchemy. When you weren't helping Cassandra around the castle you were reading some of the old alchemy books you found in the library or writing about your progress.
You had'nt realized how much you have been reading until you noticed the Queen and King observing you across the library.
                              "Is something wrong your majesties?"
"Oh no not at all (y/n), it's just, have you always been interested in reading and writing this whole time?"
"Well . . . yes. I have always enjoyed reading and writing but I have always been told that it wasn't proper for me to since I was a girl. However Varian told me otherwise. So I started reading about alchemy and other sciences so that I could have something else to talk with him about."
The King's seemed impressed. "And have you considered learning about anything else?"
"Well, I would like to but I have a job here in the castle. "
This time, after you said that Queen Ariana spoke up. "Well it's not right for a lady to be denied a proper education. Since you seem to be fairly prepared why don't we start introducing you to  tutor for half the week and see how it goes."
You jumped up. You were absolutely ecstatic. "Are you serious!? But you have done so much for me already- oh my goodness thank you so much I will not let you down." You ran up the the king and queen with your arms opened but you stopped yourself. You instead, curtsied anf gave a huge smile. But you were suprised when they both actually gave you a hug.
"We know you'll make us proud." You were taken aback. You exited the hug and you spun around.
"I have to go tell Rapunzel and Eugene! I see you at dinner." And with that you were out of the room
Once you were gone, the Queen gently gripped her husband's arm. "She'll do great. But I think she'll need a little more of a challenge. I think you should call you know who.
                              <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
A week later you were buzzing around in the library waiting for your new tutor. You were so excited that you had Eugene take you to buy supplies and didn't complain when you were forced into one of your least favorite uncomfortable dress.
Despite your excitement, you have a twinge of anxiety about who your tutor was. Mr. Monroe, that was his name. Queen Ariana told you that he was the Kings tutor growing up. She was calm and said that his teaching level was more than suitable for you.. The King was terrified at the mention of his tutor. You wondered why.
Suddenly the door of the library slowly opened. In walked in a tall man who looked as old of time. He wore a clean cut dress shirt and slacks and his hair seemed to me weaning away from the top of his head. His eyes were was caught you the most. They were a striking blue that looked like they could freeze you solid if you were to look straight at them.
He made his was toward the three of you. Without even glancing at him he walked passed the King with a cold "Fredrick". You were guffawed. Anyone who showed this much disrespct would usually automatically get scolded by a guard or escorted out but everone stood in silence.
Then he turned toward you and you started to believe that your suspicions about his eyes were true. "You must be Miss (y/n). I have gotten quite a few recommedations to tutor you. Don't disappoint me."
*Heyy I'm sorry for missing in update again. I will upload two chapters tomorrow to make up for it. Hope you enjoy~"
