He knew your parents. The sole thing your have had no clues about for your entire life could've been solved a year ago. Why didn't He tell you anything!?

The King looked at you with a knowing glance filled with shame, and the Queen, who has since stayed quiet throughout this whole ordeal, had eyes filled with empathy . . . And utter confusion.

"Dear, what are you talking about?" King Frederick looked to Queen Ariana, as if he forgot she was there. He turned to you, with your shaking body and welling tears.

"I suppose, now would be the only time I could bare to face you with this information." He took a deep breath. But instead of looking at you he turned to his wife.

"Ariana, when you got sick with Rapunzel.  I was devasted, and I promised that no matter the means  I would save you. As I was looking for people who could help I came across the names of (y/n)'s parents. They were renown in their kingdom for the excellence in science and history, so I had them sail over. It took week's, but as soon as they came they told me about the flower that grew from a drop of the sun. As I pondered this possibility they became acuainted with Varian's father Quirin. The three decided to hunt for the flower on their own. They found it hidden in a clearing in the woods but they made the mistake of trying to touch it with their bare hands. When your father made contact with it, he was sent flying into a nearby river."

The image danced in your mind and you could'nt help but to  smile a bit. But your hands began to tremble when you remembered that the same thing happened with the blue flower.

"However, with a special substance that not even I knew the contents of, they were able to contain the flower's power. However, they warned me that picking the flower would cause an imbalance in light and darkness. So, they picked a single petal. But, just as cutting a  piece of Rapunzel's rids it of power, the same thing happened to the petal. Despite everyone's protests, in a mad panic I had the whole flower quickly rooted to ensure it kept its power and brewed it into the tea that I gave to you, Ariana."

The Queen looked down, she couldn't be upset with her husband for trying to save her and Rapunzel. You on the other hand, was  getting extremely frusturated. It seemed that the King was trying to avoid speaking to you now and you couldn't take the anticipation.

"Listen, I appreciate that you are tryin to give us the background and all but you have failed to tell me what happened to my parents." He turned back to you.

"They warned me. Warned me that taking the whole flower could cause an imbalance of power that would let an equal amount of darkness would take the place of the Sun's power, but I didn't believe them. Then it started, the rocks began to form, first in the depths of caves, then it began to move to the deep end of the forest, where your parents studied."

"Why did they study so hidden?"

"Well, you  see . .. due to their controversial studies,  they were not favored as proper humans. When the rocks began to form, the villagers accused them of witch craft. For their work for to the kingdom, I had guards patrol the area around their home and for 6 years, they were safe. They even managed to have you three years after my Rapunzel. But one day, one of the guards was bribed by the villagers to reveal your family's hiding spot. Your father tried to stop them but he was slaughtered. Your mother was barely able to hide you."

You couldn't breathe. You hands were shaking and it felt that all the water in your body was going to your eyes. You struggled to speak with choked sobs.

"And w-where were y-YOU during all of this. Why didn't the rest of the guards help. WHY DIDN'T YOU AT LEAST COME FOR ME?".

"Adding more guards to the battle and taking you back to the castle would've caused even more riots in the villages. And putting you in an orphanage would've set you as a outcast for being your parent's daughter. I had an old peasant woman watch over you til you turned 6, making sure you weren't harmed. To not draw any more harm toward your life, we used a potion to erase your memory of her once you learned to take care of yourself. Soon the village forgot about the (l/n)s, and the rocks went dormant for so many years. But I fear now, something has sprouted to bring them back."

Your wet sadness became mixed with pure rage and you couldn't contain yourself. You slammed your fists on the table.

"SO YOUr PLAN FOR ALL THAT HAPPENED TO MY PARENTS WAS TO BRUSH IT OFF AND LEAVE ME ALONE MY WHOLE LIFE?!?! Just so you wouldn't have to admit to YOUR MISTAKES? "

" Please understand -"

"No. NO! I Don't need to understand anything else! You left me! Wait . . .  you probally just took me in so that you could feel better about yourself and your decisions."

"That's not true and you know that. We really do love you".

"I-I just can't." And with that you stormed out of the dining hall. After watching you rush out, the King buried his face in his hands and sighed as the Qeen comforted him.

Meanwhile you rushed down the halls to your room. You started packing into a small bag. Despite your pain, you knew you couldn't bring yourself to leave for good. So you packed a few days worth of clothes and was about to rush out when you remembered the book. What did it say about your parents? You put that into your bag as well.

Once you finished packing you bag you snuck out of the back entance but stopped as you walked to the horses' stables. Before you planned on going anywhere, you needed to have a way to get around. You quietly snuck into the stables and made your way to Maximus' stable. He was sleeping. You slowly rubbed his mane in an attempt to wake him up, then as you look down you saw a cockaroach and totally flipped out.

"Ahhh!! Satan Bug!!!" You grabbed Maximus' neck and tried to climb up, but due to your height you usually had a hard time getting up. You didn't notice how hard you were squeezing his neck until he jolted awake and started neighing in fear. You held on for dear life cause there was no way you were standing on the same ground as that bug.

"Calm down Max! It's just me (y/n)". After hearing your voice he calmed down and shook his head in annoyance for waking him up. You gave him an apple from your bag as compensation. You patted his back.

"Okay, I need a favor. I need to get out of here for a while, only a day or two, just to clear my thoughts. But I need a ride. Can you take me to where I need to go? You can come back and go back to sleep right after just please!" He looked back to you as if asking what he would get out of this.

"If you help me you will get a literal stable full of food. I am not even kidding". With that offer, Maximus couldn't resist. He stomped on the floor, signaling that he was ready and you led him out of the stables. He began to trot away from the castle. The only problem was, you didn't plan where you would go.

Everyone would've thought to check your old house so you had to debunk that idea. You thought of the one place that you would have at least SOME comfort and shelter, where you could let out some emotion to someone without receiving any pain. Only one thing came to mind.

"Varian".
