Nagisa pov

Karma and I have been closer ever since the incident which was two weeks ago. He never leaves my side. He is always waiting outside my house in the morning and drags me out of class after school. Sometimes we hang out during break time. Though I'm usually in my snake form playing with my brothers.

I'm currently inside the library waiting to issue my book from the assassistant librarian. I asked Karma to take me after school.

Paxx-chan's POV

Karma was standing outside Kunugigaoka's school library waiting for his best-friend to finish up.

"Karma-kun." Nagisa called out, which made Karma look up to see her smiling at him.

"You're late." Karma stated, which made Nagisa to chuckle nervously, before they started to walk towards their trainstation.

"Yeah. . . the librarian was taking her time when it was my turn to issue out the book I wanted." Nagisa stated while Karma hummed in confusion.
"She was glancing at you." Nagisa added, as Karma blinked and glanced back at the library. The doors were made of glass, so he could see through them and as Nagisa said. He caught the blonde girl staring at him with dreamy hazel eyes.

"Do you mean to say, she was stalling you, just to ogle at me?" Karma whispered annoyed, which caused Nagisa to laugh.
"Of course. Karma-kun, that girl back there is merely a student, she's the assistant of the librarian."

"Still gross." Karma muttered, which made Nagisa laugh. A small chime noise resounded. Nagisa stopped and got out her phone to check her notiforcations.

"Ah- I forgot." Nagisa suddenly muttered, which made Karma to look at her.

"Forgot what?"

"That it's my birthday today." Nagisa then smiled sadly which made Karma look at her shock.

"You forgot it's your birthday today?!" Karma raised his voice in shock, which made Nagisa to flinch and look at him with wide eyes before returning back to normal. Luckily they were already out of the school premises and were heading towards the train station.

"Yup." Nagisa nonchalantly answered, continuing to walk. Karma however looked at her with wide eyes.

"Haven't your. .Caregivers ever celebrated your birthday?" Karma was cautious around the Caregivers part. Over the weeks he noticed that Nagisa barely spoke about them or her home life. It's understandable seeing she was an orphan so he respected her wishes.

But he can't stop his curiosity. A strange feeling of rage settled in his stomach when he thought back to what he saw on the bluenetts back. He never managed to talk about it with her. Every time he tried she would dodge the question.
Karma then promised he would figure out what happened to her and beat the bastard to death when he figures out who did it.

Back to the story

Nagisa chuckled at the question.
"I've never been with a couple longer than a few months. So I could always say it had already past. Anyway my orphanage wasn't the best. We had alot of kids coming and going of all ages. No one celebrated birthdays. It was just another day." Nagisa said plainly as she continued hopping onto the train with a stunned Karma.
