CHAPTER THIRTY ONE

The next two days pass by at a surprisingly slow rate. It's as if everything has decided to slow down and punish me for not being honest with Louis about my real intentions. Ever since the night at the waterfall he's been in a great mood and every time we're alone together I muster up the courage to tell him, but then he gushes about a different place he can't wait to take me and the guilt returns. All we do is pack, and by the time Tuesday night rolls around we've packed the kitchen, Harry's room, Gemma's room, Cal's room and his office. The only rooms left are the living room and the rest of Louis' room.

The three of us are sitting in the living room, wrapping valuable items in bubble wrap and placing them in boxes. Louis and Harry are talking about everything I need to see, where I need to eat and who I need to meet. They're laughing, both of them sending their loud laughter into the empty house, the sound bouncing off of the walls all around me. I like seeing them this way, their bodies relaxed or shaking with laughter and their faces completely relaxed. The atmosphere in the room is so inviting I can't help but laugh along with them as Louis pulls face after face, sending Harry and I into a fit of laughter. He has a sassy side to him I've never seen before and the way he teases us is so pointed and I wonder if I'm glimpsing a younger version of himself, but then he crosses his eyes and frowns and I know that this is the way he is now, but there wasn't room for this side of him among the other things that are happening.

And the fact that he's finally letting this side of him come out is making it harder for me to walk away. He tapes up a box and tries to get Harry to let him wrap the tape around his head. I laugh as Louis continues to ruffle Harry's hair, sending it flying in all directions.

"When are you going to cut this, you look like a hobo." Louis says, giggling while Harry puts his hair back into place.

"You're one to talk have you ever heard of a razor?" Harry says, reaching over and pinching Louis' chin. He hadn't shaved in a couple days and his scruff got thicker everyday. It made him look older, stronger somehow and it honestly didn't bother me, especially when he kissed my neck, I loved the way it tickled.

"I like it." I say, both of them looking at me from their potions on the couch. I gently put a vase wrapped in bubble wrap into a box and shrug.

"If you two weren't sleeping together she'd be on my side." Harry pouts, slumping down into the couch. I laugh, wondering how anyone could ever have the will power to choose between the two of them. Hell, I don't even know how I'd made the choice.

"She just like the way it tickles when I kiss her ne-" I cut him off, practically squealing over him.

"Louis!" I blush a deep red and throw a roll of tape at him. They both erupt in laughter, enjoying the humiliated look on my face.

"Oh c'mon Rae, we're practically family now, there are no secrets between us." Harry says, still laughing and exchanging glances with Louis. I smirk, grabbing a few picture frames and stacking them, preparing to wrap them and pack them away.
