"I'll be there in 5 minutes. I'm sorry for running late." I quickly hung up my phone and started getting ready. I was supposed to be at work 20 minutes ago. I slipped on my Green Day shirt and some black jeans. After unsuccessfully taming my red hair, I decided to just put on a beanie. A few minutes later, I arrived at the library. "You're late." the stern voice of my boss surprised me. "Y-yeah um sorry about that. It won't happen again I promise." She smiled and walked off without another word. The people working here were weird. I fit right in. I was a punk and a geek which always got me bullied. Some days I cared but mostly, I just didn't give a shit. I began gathering up returned books and put them on the cart. As I was pushing the cart towards one of the aisles, I saw a semi-familiar figure walk towards me. I struggled to remember who he was as I put books away. "You come here often?" I immediately recognized the Australian boy. "I work here. What about you? You don't seem like a reading kind of guy" He gave me a fake look of hurt. "I love books." This was a total lie but I played along. "Oh. So what's your favorite book?" He scanned the shelves and grabbed a book I haven't even read and handed it to me, looking pleased with himself. "I love that book." I lied "Who's your favorite character?" He started panicking "Um that main guy is pretty cool but i don't have a favorite..." At this, I laughed and he turned red. "Okay I lied. I'm too punk rock to read." This made me laugh even harder. He tried to lean against the shelf but tripped and almost fell. I giggled and continued shelving books. "So Maddy, when do you get a lunch break?"
"5 minutes. How do you know my name?" he smirked at me.
"Name tag. Wanna go to the coffee shop"
"I'm not wearing a name tag. Coffee is good." it was my turn to smirk as he started to blush. We walked out the door towards the coffee shop about 2 minutes away. This should be interesting.
"So how do you know my name?" I finally asked. I definitely thought I would regret going with him but I'm actually having fun. "Daizha mentioned you once or twice" Michael replied leaning back in his seat. "How do you know Daizha?" I asked curiously. I know most of her friends but I'm positive she's never mentioned him. "Calum had a massive crush on her." I almost choked. "She's like-in love with him." Michael chuckled as I told him. "She's pretty cool though. I kinda see why he likes her." I started thinking about that. "Hmmm is someone jealous?" I teased. He started laughing. "Nah. I like one of her friends." That surprised me. Girls were throwing themselves at him constantly but he never showed the slightest interest. "I would've thought you were too 'punk rock' for relationships." He seemed to be thinking of a reply. Michael took out a piece of paper out and wrote something down. "I'm only into punk rock girls." He winked at me and walked out. I looked at the paper he left on the table. It was his phone number. There was something different about this boy
