After skating, Daizha and I headed back to my house. "Hey mom." I said casually walking into the kitchen. My workaholic mother was sat at the kitchen table typing something on the computer surrounded by important looking papers. "Madeline you were supposed to be home a whole hour ago. What the hell?" my mom asked only slightly concerned. "Oh yeah sorry." I said nonchalantly. "Do you think Maddy could spend the night at my house again?" Dai asked. "Whatever just make you go to sleep." my mom replied not looking up from her laptop. Daizha and I looked up at eachother and smiled, glad that she let me stay over since she thinks I slept there last night. We ran upstairs and into my bright green bedroom to get some clothes. "Hey Ash." I said acknowledging the boy in my room. "Why are you here?" He had been sneaking through my window since we were little kids. Ashton was my first friend. For a long time, he was my only friend. "Just dropping by. You going to Dai's place?" Daizha hated being called Dai but nodded for me anyways. "Mind if I join?" Ash asked, climbing up to my loft bed. "Whatever." Daizha and I mumbled at the same time. Ashton laughed at our synchronization and crawled out the window. I looked down and saw him sprawled out on Daizha's car. "Alright let's go." I demanded, grabbing my bag. "Bye mom." I said walking into the kitchen. "Text me when you get there. Love you." she said and pried her eyes away from the computer long enough to hug me. We had a...complicated relationship to say the least. I locked the door behind me. The three of us got in the car headed to Daizha's house. Ash decided to break the silence. "Are your parents home?" I laughed knowing that her mom and dad were almost always on business trips. That had its pro's and con's. Having people over whenever she wanted was definitely a pro. "Nope. Who should I invite?" she asked. We decided to have a few people over to get drunk and embarrass ourselves. "You should invite Calum." I said winking and making her blush. "You know he'll probably bring Michael right?" she said. It was my turn to blush."Still want me to invite him?" she asked smirking. I can't have her thinking I was scared. "Go ahead." I challenged. She looked smug and typed something on her phone as we pulled into the driveway. " Can I invite some people?" Ash asked. "No more than five. Maddy can't handle lots of people in a small space." Daizha sighed. "Oh thanks for the support Dai." I said sarcastically but laughing it off. It's not like she was wrong or anything. After several calls, we set out the alcohol and started taking shots. The vodka burned at first but it gets better with time and some milk. There was about 30 people in all parts of the house and we blasted music. It didn't seem like a lot but 30 intoxicated teens really added up. I looked for Michael and was surprisingly upset to see him making out with some girl I haven't seen before. Daizha and Calum were talking on the couch. Ash was probably already banging someone. I was in a crowded room but I never felt more alone. I grabbed a bottle of whatever I could find and chugged it from the bottle. A few people chanted 'chug' as I downed the contents of the bottle. I felt a hand on my shoulder and I spun around to see who it was. "Hey gorgeous. Why don't I know you?" He was blonde with blue eyes and very tall. The boy had a lip ring but probably still a jock. "I'm Luke Hemmings. You are?" I continued to stare trying to figure him out "Oh um I'm Maddy." he chuckled. "Well Maddy, you look stunning and can definitely handle your alcohol." I laughed. He started leaning down and I knew what was going to happen. I didn't really like him but he was cute and I was drunk so I kissed him anyways. Suddenly, he was pulled back. I heard a strange noise and he fell to the floor. Some people gathered around but some didn't even care. "What the fuck Hemmings?!" It was Michael. "She's a big girl and doesn't need dear Mikey's permission to talk to strangers. I was being friendly, douche bag." They started throwing punches. Finally, the other jocks pulled Luke away. Mikey had a busted lip and a bruise on his cheek. I grabbed a random bottle of whiskey and ran into an abandoned bedroom hoping the drink would keep me from having a panic attack. It didn't. I was a sobbing mess, hyperventilating on the floor. Someone walked it but I didn't want to look up. "I'm sorry babe. Are you okay?" Michael looked horrible. "Why did you have to fight?" I asked once I could breathe. "He was obviously going to use you. I couldn't let that happen." he sounded sincere but I wasn't going to let this slide. "It's not like you cared. He's the only one who talked to me all night. You were too busy making out to even look at me or say hi." I felt pathetic and Michael seemed hurt. "I know. I'm a dick and I'm sorry. Do you feel better now?" I took a drink from the bottle and nodded. "Well let's go back out there. You have my undivided attention. He smiled an actual smile showing his teeth. I smiled back suddenly feeling much better. He helped me up and I was suddenly in my happy drunk phase. When we got into the living room people were sitting in a circle and I knew what was happening. We sat in the circle anyways. "Calum truth or dare?" I heard Mikey ask next to me. "Um dare." he said "Ask her." Mikey smirked. Calum blushed and turned to Daizha. "So uh will you umm be my uh-" she cut him off with a kiss. "Finally!" Mikey shouted making me laugh. "Mike truth or dare." Ashton asked. He had an arm around some girl. I think her name was Milka. That's probably the girl he was banging earlier. "Dare obviously." Michael scoffed. "I'm not a pussy." Ash smirked. "Okay then. Hmm. Kiss Maddy." Mikey shrugged it off like it was nothing. I, on the other hand, was extremely nervous however I played it cool. He leaned over. He looked hesitant. I kept my eyes open, wanting to see the surprise in his. We got closer together and I grew more impatient. "Just kiss already!" someone shouted. That's when I leaned forward and connected our lips
