Throughout the weekend, Michael and I have been texting non-stop. He even visited me at the library again. I have to admit, I might have a small crush on him but all my life I've been very good at hiding or ignoring my emotions. Everything is going to stay good. Sure, we flirt a little bit but it's only for entertainment and he likes some other mystery girl. I made a mental note to ask Daizha about that later. On Monday morning, I didn't know if the library incident would affect how Mikey and I acted at school. We were aware of eachother's existence, we just didn't acknowledge it. I was standing in a group of my school friends when Michael came walking up to us. He decided to flaunt how tall he was by resting his chin on the top of my head. I got a smirk or two from the group but no one said anything out of the ordinary. "I want to show you something." I turned around to see Mikey eye-level with me and extremely close to my face. "What do you want to show me?" He grabbed my hand and pulled me to the back of the the school. He was smiling really big and his eyes were lit up like a little kid on Christmas morning. "Hi." he said and started giggling. I laughed and playfully rolled my eyes. "Is that all, Mikey?" he nodded. "Okay well let's go back. First period is starting soon." I started walking back but, to my surprise, Mikey grabbed my hand and pulled me back again. I turned to face the frowning boy. "What is it?" I asked getting slightly frustrated. "Are you mad at me?" he asked. I shook my head. "Will you skip today with me?" This boy must be out of his damn mind. Sure I was purposely late to classes all the time but I couldn't miss a whole day. But this was different and he was different. Before I could think it through, I found myself agreeing. "Yay!!" he shouted and started doing some strange victory dance. I couldn't help but to dance along. We got in his car when I finally decided to ask where we're going. "It's a surprise." he said smugly. "I hate surprises." I said crossing my arms. He grinned and looked over at me. "I know." We arrived at the same coffee shop we went to 3 days ago and stepped inside. "This isn't it by the way. I just want coffee." he said. The car ride was an hour long but there was never a dull moment. We sang along to Blink 182 and told stupid jokes. I found this friendship to be developing rather quickly. That scared me. Every time I let myself get close, they left. I couldn't scare him off or make him leave. I was determined to keep this one friendship. "Whatcha' thinking about?" Michael said, suddenly breaking the silence. That's when I snapped out of my daze. "Oh sorry I kinda zoned out." I said quickly to disguise my deep thought. He looked at me confused. "We're here." I looked out the window. We were in front of a seemingly secluded treehouse. "Let's go!" He seemed very excited all of a sudden. We got out of the car and climbed up the rope ladder. "Text your mom and tell her you're staying at Daizha's house. I want to sleep here tonight." The way Michael said it let me know that I could go home but I knew that he wants me to stay. I also texted Daizha letting her know in case my mom called over there. For the rest of the afternoon, we watched movies on his laptop and goofed off. Apparently he's been planning this because he brought food, pillows, blankets, and even some sweatpants I could sleep in. "I'm tiiiireeddddd" I said dramatically stretching over Michael to prevent him from watching another movie. He laughed at me. I watched him put blankets and pillows on the floor to create a makeshift bed. He focused intensely on the simplest things which was actually adorable. "Come on" he whined laying on the floor and reaching his arms towards me. I rolled my eyes but walked over there and laid down next to him. He turned to face my and started giggling for probably the 800th time today. I couldn't help but laugh along. "I'm cold." he said pouting like a child. "Hello cold, I'm Maddy." He let out an inhuman growl and pulled me closer to him. We were both laying on our sides facing eachother. I buried my head in his chest and we had our arms around each other. "I'm stealing all of your body heat." he stated with a smug grin. "Fucking thief." I muttered. "What was that?" Wow his hearing was good. "Nothing." I said as innocently as possible. "Damn right." He smirked. I could've sworn he said something else but I quickly drifted off to sleep
