This is truly overly cliched, I am glad that it never really made it as a stand alone story.

They met at the age of 19, both one year into college. They met in a gaming store that was hosting a competition for the latest MMOPVP game. They competed against each other then worked as a team to beat the country's best gamers and won. They chatted with each other over lunch and found they had many things in common, yet were so different. They were two melodies that came together in a beautiful harmony. Until this point in their lives they were unknowing of how close to each other they've always been. Now in the same college they became best friends. In their third year of college they made a promise with one another: if they were both still single by age 30 they would go out. As the years passed by they grew closer until one day at age 26 the girl bounded excitedly up to the boy and told him of something very important. She was engaged to another man. The boy congratulated his best friend, but deep down he was heartbroken because that same day he intended to ask her to dinner. She was oblivious to the man's affections of course, and was caught up in her own euphoria of being engaged to someone she hadn't known very long. That night the man tried to come to terms that his best friend was moving on and planning a future without him, but a broken heart is not easy to heal. He took a deep breath, running a hand through his bright orange hair he came to a conclusion: he was going to be a good friend and support and respect her decisions. So in the upcoming months he supported her through her decisions about her wedding, he helped her with everything with a hurting heart. Every time he saw her he wanted to tell her how much he loved her, but he didn't wish to ruin her happiness. It broke him to see her with another man, it was torture. His other friends told him to make a move before it really was too late and she was bound to the man. As the wedding date neared he began to notice odd things about her fiancé, he jumped every time some mentioned the words "another girl". He could tell from his exhausted eyes and sluggish movements that he stayed out late. He asked her about this once, but she said he simply worked late. One evening as he was walking home from his shift at the hospital he saw the man with another woman. She greeted him with a passionate kiss. He quickly continued home, not wanting to be seen. When he met up with her the next day he warned her of her fiancé's actions. She denied his words with venomous curses and refused to believe him. After that she refused to speak with him, calling him a jealous bastard. He was dismayed by her choice of words, in all the time he'd known her she'd never cursed. She had changed because of that poisonous man. On the day of the wedding his friends barged into his hole of self pity and asked if he was going to attend the wedding. He turned and left at the mention of the dreaded event. He stood on top of a hill that overlooked the small city as the church bells rang in the distance. To others it may seem as a joyous occasion, but for him it was like falling into the bottomless pits of Hell, like he was slowly dying. He walked home and thought about his current options as he flopped onto his bed. A few days ago he had received a job offer in a city a few hours away, it offered him a desirable position in their hospital with a greater pay. A response was needed by tomorrow or the offer would be revoked, so he got up and say down at his computer and began to type.

She woke up bright and early on the day of her wedding her fiancé still sound asleep. She looked over at the night stand where his phone sat, buzzing like crazy.
