We're All Mad Here

The start of what would have been Orihime in Wonderland.

Orihime let out an exasperated sigh. "Orihime, do tell me that you dressed appropriately for the garden party at the Ishida's." A shrill, female voice rang out. "Yes mother, I wore my fine calico dress." Orihime replied as she hurriedly came down the stairs, pulling on her stockings and narrow-toed, white flats. When Orihime reached the bottom of the stairs her mother, Rangiku Inoue, stood patiently by the large, stained glass, double door. "You're brother is still away on business and will not be back until next week." Rangiku stated as she stepped into the carriage cabin. Orihime followed in after her mother. The carriage jostled and bounced its passengers as they headed to the Ishida manor. "Now I here that Ryuken Ishida's son, Uryu, has something important to announce today toward evening tea time." Rangiku squealed. "I wonder what it is that is so important for us to know." Orihime wondered aloud. "Orihime don't say it like a bad thing, I mean who knows it could be somethings special for you. Whatever I do happens to be, be polite about it." Rangiku rambled. Orihime nodded her head absentmindedly as she glanced out the window. Not long after the little chat she and her mother had the carriage came to a stop. The coach driver leaped down from his post and came around to the right side of the carriage to let the two females out. Orihime and Rangiku leaped out of the coach and walked toward the Ishida garden as music began to play in lighthearted, cheerful tunes. "Ah, Mrs. Inoue, you made it, and with your daughter I presume?" Ryuken, the head of the Ishida household, said. Orihime fidgeted with her hair pins while she stood behind her mother. "Well I best not keep you from the party any longer. Now don't forget to stay till the end!" Ryuken called after Rangiku as she and Orihime walked down to the garden to join the party.
