For the majority of her high school experience, she didn't know I existed. I knew her. I knew of her. She was friends with some of my closest friends and I seen her statuses on Facebook. Yet I didn't really get the chance to ever talk to her and become her friend. She was the kind of person you wanted to be friends with though. She was strong. She was beautiful. She was able to do anything and everything that she set her mind to. It was incredible how she was so determined to succeed and be a great person.

I started to notice her because of her pregnancy. She was young, but she was determined to be the best mother that she could ever be. She mad that very clear early on in her pregnancy. Her child wasn't even born yet before she started promising the child the world. That was the first thing that I admired about her. The way she loved so deeply that she would give up anything for her child to have the best life possible. She treated her son like a prince before he was ever born. I couldn't wait to see how she treated him after he was.

After he was born, she continued to go to school, taking him with her to the daycare that our high school had. She would come and spend every spare minute she had with him. Or at least to my knowledge, she did. She got her education and she still had time to be a good mother. Everyone loved her son at the school. Seeing him being so comfortable around the administration warmed my heart. It was always good to see these two around the school. It made me believe that anything is possible if you set your mind to it.

She graduated last May. I've only had a few conversations with her in my life. Yet I look up to her so much. She is a teen mother who didn't let that stop her from obtaining her goals in life. Beyond that, she is beautiful. Her son is handsome. She makes sure that he has whatever it is that he needs and she allows him to be a child. He's got her attitude. I hope he has her determination as well. I've told her before that he looks just like her and he acts like her too.

Although I've not been able to build an incredibly significant relationship with this girl, I've come to know that I can look up to her. She's successful, she's an amazing mother, she's a beautiful person inside and out. To me, she is a role model. Someone to look at when I feel hopeless and it'll remind me that I can and I will overcome whatever is in my way. That is her significance in my life. A muse. A role model. Perhaps even someone to talk to when I need advice. I'm blessed to know her and her son.
