She intimidated me. She was older than me by a few years. She was the kind of girl you'd stay away from. Not because she was bad, but because you feared her. She had this resting face that scared people. But once you look past the wildly colored hair that contrasted with her fair skin and the piercings and tattoos, she was the sweetest girl ever. She could be like a big teddy bear at times. She could rant on and on about the many things that she loved and was obsessed with. She was dedicated to what she loved and she made that known.
The few things that she was obsessed with were boy bands, boys, and boys with superpowers. She could tell you anything and everything about certain bands. Certain artists could get her to go on rants for hours. Certain superheroes have become her whole color scheme for her car. She was so passionate about music and artists that she would buy multiple concert tickets for the exact same show, just in different cities on different days. She got people hooked on these artists as if they were a drug. It was that easy for her to do.
She was talented. She pained the entirety of her wall in her room and it was gorgeous. She had art being sold and art in galleries in our city being displayed. She had art on her body. She was just an artsy person. I admired that about her. I couldn't even draw a circle without messing that up. I've told her that on many occasions and she laughed it off. Her laugh was infectious. You just had to laugh if she was laughing. She was a funny girl so it wasn't like you had to force your laughter. It came naturally.
We became really close this last year. After a failed suicide attempt of mine, I started talking to her more and it would be simple things that helped me recover. She would text me from her car in the school parking lot and tell me that she sees me. And again telling me that I suck at checking my phone. Once I got into the school building, I would check my phone and I'd see it and it would make me feel so much better knowing someone noticed me. She had a way of making me laugh when all I wanted to do was cry.
With her personality, it was so easy for me to open up to her. She had such a kind vibe to her. We shared music interests and we shared movie interests. She was the type of girl who took care of you. So she took care of me as if I was her little brother. She is my big sister. It's an amazing thing when a friend comes to be your family. That's exactly what happened here. She is a blessing because she's so excited about the things I do. I can't wait to see what the future holds for her.
